As we head into the final few weeks of the NRL season, the battle for the top 8 spots rages on.
For those teams sitting below the cut line, time is quickly running out, and some are going to see their hopes of playing beyond the end of the regular season come to an end sooner rather than later.
My Analysis for Round 25 top games
At the top of the ladder, the #1 spot seems to basically be all but locked up, with the Storm sitting 4 points clear with just 3 games left to play.
One more win might well be enough for them to clinch the #1 seed. There is another full slate of games coming our way this weekend, so let’s pick out 4 games that we really like.
^Canberra Raiders +237 vs Penrith Panthers -323
The Panthers are the only team that has a legit shot at running down the Storm for the top spot, but they need to win out and hope that the leaders stumble along the way.
They have certainly been in great form of late, winning 4 of their last 5 games, plus they have been solid on the road, winning 8 of 11 away from home.
The Raiders could well see their dreams of a top 8 spot come to an end this weekend. They are 4 games out of the final spot and have gone 2-3 in their last 5 games.
They do have a winning 6-5 record at home.
^Melbourne Storm -588 vs Dolphins (Nrl) +380
As we mentioned at the top of this piece, the Storm are very much on the brink of officially clinching the #1 spot, and you would certainly like their chances of doing that this weekend.
The Storm are playing at home, where they have put together a 9-2 record, while also going 4-1 in their last 5 games overall.
That is all bad news for a Dolphins team sitting in the #9 spot and very much in need of a win.
The Dolphins are on the slide, winning just once in their last 5 games.

Gold Coast Titans +363 vs Sydney Roosters -566
This is another matchup where we could see the fates of a pair of teams decided.
The Titans are 6 points out of the final playoff spot and need to win out to have a chance at getting in. With just 2 wins in their last 5, their chances of doing that seem slim at best.
The Roosters are currently sitting in the #3 spot, and while the top seems out of reach, they could still potentially move up a place.
The Roosters are 3-1 in their last 4 games and have been great on the road, going 8-3.
^St George Illawarra Dragons +122 vs Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks -154
This is arguably the best matchup of the weekend, with both teams currently sitting in the top 8. The Dragons are clinging to the final playoff spot in the ladder and are just 2 points up on their closest rival.
They are 2-2 over their last 4 games, but they have been tough to beat at home, going 6-4 overall.
The Sharks are sitting in 4th, just 2 points out of the #2 spot, so they could potentially move up with the win.
The Sharks have won 3 of their last 4 and are 6-4 on the road.
