The NRL culminates this weekend when the Penrith Panthers try to go back-to-back but against a club who has been their nemesis this year in the Parramatta Eels. The English Premiership also enters round four with four teams still undefeated, and we’ve also got a match between one and two on the top 14 ladder.
It’s a great weekend on the rugby world, here is who to watch so you can get ready to make your bets against the Rugby Odds.

Penrith Panthers (-8.5) vs Parramatta Eels, NRL Grand Final Sunday 3:30 AM ET
The NRL takes center stage with the Grand Final on Sunday. It’s no surprise that the Penrith Panthers are here; they’ve been the most dominant team in the NRL all season, winning the minor premiership with a 20-4 record.
Two of Penrith’s four losses this season have come against their Grand Final opponent, the Parramatta Eels. Penrith got their revenge with a 27-8 win over the Eels in the qualifying final, which also gave the Panthers a week off – which ultimately may cost Parramatta in this matchup.
This Grand Final is a case of two different cultures, with Penrith playing in the last game for the third straight season – winning in 2021 – while Parramatta’s 36-year drought since their last premiership in 1986 is the third longest in the history of the league. It would be a great feel-good story for the Eels, but Penrith is just too good.
Sale Rugby Union Fc Sharks (-2.5) vs Exeter Rc Chiefs, English Premiership Saturday 9:00 AM ET
Both Sale (2-0-0) and Exeter (3-0-0) have looked solid in their starts to the 2022 English Premiership campaign. The Sharks would seemingly have an edge here, being at home and having last weekend off while Exeter was battling to a 43-42 over Harlequin. These two clubs finished #2 and #3 on the table last season, so this is a nice early-season test for both.
Saracens Fc (-6.5) vs Leicester Tigers, English Premiership Saturday 9:00 AM ET
Four of the top five teams on the English Premiership table play each other this weekend with the Sale vs. Exeter match and also the Saracens vs. Fc meeting. Bristol (3-0) gets a matchup with last-place Newcastle (0-3), so they’ll likely stay atop the standings regardless of how the other games play out.
Leicester is the only club in the top five with a loss (2-0-1), but their +31 point differential is the highest in the league. That’s thanks to a 15-point win over Newcastle and a 20-point victory over Northampton last weekend. Saracens (2-0) has claimed their two victories by a combined five points.
Montpellier Hérault Rugby vs Stade Toulousain Rugby, Top 14 Sunday 2:05 PM ET
Something has to give in Sunday’s matchup between 3-0-1 Montpellier and 3-0-1 Toulouse as they own the top two spots in France’s Top 14 ladder. Both teams were dominant in their respective matches last week, with Montpellier dispersing Pau 43-17 while Toulouse beat Racing 92 by the score of 37-10.
