In sports that have a bye week, platers tend to be happy to get some rest.

In the NRL, there is the added bonus of getting 2 points for a bye week, which can have an impact on the standings even when a team is getting the weekend off.

My Analysis for the Best Games This Weekend

The Week 16 Round 16 schedule is a little lighter than in other rounds, with a lot of teams sitting this one out. The good news is that the matchups that are going down this weekend are all worth taking a look at, so with just 5 games set to go, let’s take a look at them all.

Dolphins +164 Vs Melbourne Storm -192

With both teams currently occupying a top 4 spot on the ladder, this is easily the game of the week. The Dolphins are down in the #4 slot, and while you might think playing at home would be an advantage, they have been much better away from home.

The Storm is sitting atop the ladder, but just 4 points clear of their weekend opponent. They have won 3 of their last 4 and are 3-2 in road games.

Gold Coast Titans +158 Vs New Zealand Warriors -132

While the ladder is quite tight from top to bottom, there are some teams that are falling well off the pace. The Gold Coast Titans, who are dead last in the NRL, are one of those teams. They have just 10 points and have only won once in 7 attempts at home this season.

The Warriors are below the cut line right now, but just 2 points off the pace. A win here would help their cause in a big way.

Sydney Roosters -278 Vs Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs +217

Another very good game, with these teams sitting on the same number of points, while also being in the top 8. The Roosters are just 3-3 at home this season, but they still have a definite edge in this one given that the Bulldogs have been horrible away from home, picking up just 1 win in 7 attempts.

The Bulldogs, though, have won 3 of their last 4, so they must still be seen as a threat.

South Sydney Rabbitohs -233 Vs Manly Sea Eagles +185

It is getting close to must win territory for the Rabbitohs, who are 5 points below the #8 spot, which is currently held by the Sea Eagles. The Rabbitohs are on the move, though, winning 3 of their last 4 games, although they are still just 3-4 at home.

The Sea Eagles have had a tough time of things on the road, winning just once in 5 attempts, which explains why they are the underdogs in this one.

Wests Tigers +141 Vs Canberra Raiders -175

The Tigers are another team that is in danger of digging themselves into a hole too deep to get out of. They are down in 16th, 7 points back of the cut line, plus they also have just 1 win in their last 4 games.

The Raiders are 8 points ahead of the Tigers right now and are sitting in 7th. A win here would help give them a little more breathing room above the playoff line, and given current form, a win looks like a good bet.
