Belgium vs. Tunisia

The major favorites for the 2018 World Cup have not been particularly impressive thus far, with Belgium being perhaps one of the more convincing of the bunch. They cruised to a 3-0 win in their opening game against Panama, and while the score will suit them, they will absolutely be aware that they can play better. They are going to need to be better in this one, as Tunisia gave England all they could handle in a 2-1 loss in their first game of Group G. You did get the sense that Belgium could very easily have stepped it up a gear or two in their game against Panama, and it is worth remembering that they were playing on a night when the weather was reportedly very humid, which is not ideal conditions for a European team. I have Belgium winning this one quite handily.

South Korea vs. Mexico

There is no doubt about it, the biggest surprise of the tournament through the opening 10 days was seeing Mexico take out Germany, the defending world champions, 1-0 in their opening game. While that was certainly a huge win for El Tri, it won’t do them any good if they subsequently come out and get nothing against South Korea. I’m not so sure that will happen, though, as this Mexico team looks to be one of the strongest and most composed of recent years. Mexico is the 2018 World Cup Betting favorite against South Korea. It probably helps that many of these players have been playing together at the international level since becoming U-17 world champs a few years back. South Korea did not pose much of an attacking threat in their 1-0 loss to Sweden in their opening game, so it should be a comfortable win for Mexico.

Germany vs. Sweden

The reigning world champions are in real trouble after losing their opening game 1-0 to Mexico. The loss itself was bad enough, but the overall performance of the team in that game is what is perhaps the most concerning. There was no real sense of urgency from Germany, even in the later stages of the game when they were trying to nab an equalizer. Sweden comes into this one knowing that they have a chance to book a spot in the next round with a win, but they will need to be more clinical in front of goal than they were against South Korea, where their only goal in the win came via the penalty spot. I have Germany winning a close one here to stay alive at Group F. Score Prediction: Germany 1 – Sweden 0
