Bayern, Man City and Pool roll to easy wins
The three favorites to win the Champions League, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Liverpool, dominated their respective opponents. No victory among the three was more impressive than Liverpool’s.
Pool put a beating onto Atalanta that most won’t soon forget. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane each knocked in a goal. Diogo Jota scored 3 goals. Liverpool beat Atalanta 5-0.
Pool won the 2019 Champions League. Based on their Tuesday performance, they expect to take home the trophy this season.
Manchester City beat Olympiakos 3-0. So far in a couple of UCL matches, Man City has outscored their two opponents an unbelievable 6 nil. If City keeps playing like this, they might go from an underlay at their current odds to an overlay.
Bayern beat Salzburg 6-2. Although impressive, Munich did allow 2 goals. Champions League future handicappers should forgive them, though, because Bayern takes on Bundesliga rival Dortmund on Saturday.
Atalanta falls apart, Monchengladbach moves up
Like we wrote above, Atalanta failed in every way against Liverpool. Even though they lost, the Serie A squad could still march to the Round of 16. They’re down a goal to Ajax. So, Atalanta isn’t out of it.
Monchengladbach showed they’re a legit UEFA Champions League underdog contender on Tuesday. Gladbach took charge of their group with a 6-0 beat down of Shakthar Donetsk.
Mochengladbach drew with Real Madrid in their last UCL match. Gladbach is a legit longshot to win the 2020 Champions League.
Real Madrid bests Inter Milan to keep Champions League hopes alive
Heading into Tuesday, Real Madrid was a longshot to keep their UCL hopes alive. After beating Inter Milan 3-2, Real has a real shot of making it to the knockout stage.
RM has 4 points, which means they’re tied with Shakthar. Both Real and Shakthar are a point behind Monchengladbach in Group B. Inter Milan has just a couple of points, which makes their chances of reaching the knockout stage next to impossible.
Check out Wednesday matches, especially RB Leipzig versus Paris St. Germain. Leipzig and St. Germain both have 3 points in Group H. The winner could join Manchester United, Man U has 6 points, in the next round.
