CONCACAF 2021 Gold Cup Matches to Must Bet On July 24th
El Salvador +300 Vs Qatar -106
- When: Saturday, July 24
With every Gold Cup match, Qatar has improved. Next year’s World Cup hosts began their quest for the title on July 13 with a 3-3 draw versus Panama. Since then, Qatar’s defense has locked down.
Qatar dusted Grenada 4-0 on July 17. In their next match on July 20, they beat Honduras 2-0. Then in the third match on July 20, Qatar blasted Honduras 2-0.
But although Qatar has played great, El Salvador has played almost as well. We shouldn’t read too much into El Salvador’s 1-0 loss to Mexico on July 18. Mexico is the team to beat at the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Before the loss to Mexico, El Salvador had beaten Guatemala 2-0 and Trinidad and Tobago 2-0. The Salvadoreans are playing excellent soccer.
Qatar’s 2-0 victory over Honduras impressed. Everyone dominated Grenada during the group stage, though. If Qatar’s odds were better, we’d consider. But at-106 Qatar is an underlay, which means El Salvador is the team to back.
Soccer Pick: El Salvador
Honduras +1 ½ (-169) Vs Mexico -1 ½ (+126)
- When: Saturday, July 24
Honduras is a big underdog on the moneyline. They’re the chalk on the handicap at +1 ½. One of the reasons? These two played on June 12 in an international friendly and it ended in a draw.
The Hondurans have had a decent CONCACAF Gold Cup. On July 13, like Qatar, Honduras blasted Grenada 4-0. In their next Gold Cup match on July 17, Honduras beat Panama 3-2, then in their third match they fell to Qatar 0-2.
Honduras is playing great, but El Tri has their sights on a Gold Cup trophy. After a 0-0 draw with Trinidad and Tobago, where Mexico made 7 shots on target and controlled possession 70% of the time, the Mexicans beat Guatemala 3-0.
Mexico then beat El Salvador 1-0. The chances of Mexico covering the handicap aren’t spectacular, but the +126 makes El Tri an overlay. More importantly, the -169 on Honduras makes them an underlay. Back Mexico and hope they have one of those 2-0 spectacular, dominating, victories.
Soccer Pick: Mexico
