This is the stage of the Champions League when things can get a little tricky for the teams still alive and well in the final eight. The fact of the matter is that many of these teams are still in the hunt for a domestic title as well as the chance to become the champions of Europe. It can often mean that coaches are forced to juggle line-up in order to keep players healthy whilst still maintaining a challenge in both competitions. Both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are in this situation, as both are currently sitting at the top of their domestic leagues.
Bayern Munich look to be headed for another Bundesliga title, as their 10-point lead looks pretty unassailable at this point. Real Madrid have a slimmer lead atop La Liga, but they also have a game in hand over second place Barcelona, so they must be considered favorites to win it. These two club giants will be putting all of that aside on Wednesday, though, as they will go head to head at the Allianz Arena in Munich in the quarter-final first leg.
