Barcelona (18-2-4) vs. Cultural Leonesa

Barcelona has won two straight including their 2-0 shutout win over Villareal on Sunday. Cultural Leonesa had their three-match winning streak snapped in their hard-fought 1-0 loss against…you guess it – Barcelona on Halloween.

With Leonesa being a Spanish Segunda Division team, the fact of the matter is that Barcelona could probably beat them while resting all of their starters. If Barca doesn’t win this one by at least two goals, I’ll be shocked!

Liverpool 11-0-3 vs. Burnley (2-9-3)

• Where: Turf Moor Stadium, Burnley, England

Burnley has lost two straight and four of their last five including a 2-0 shutout loss against Crystal City on Saturday. Liverpool took out Everton 1-0 on Sunday to improve to 3-1 over their last four games. Liverpool has also gone 3–1-1 against Burnley in their last five meetings in this series including a 2-1 win on New Year’s day

Liverpool is fourth in scoring with 27 goals while Burnley is ranked 14th in scoring with just 13 goals in 14 matches. While Liverpool is a fantastic +22 in goal differential, Burnley is an awful -16. Liverpool has allowed just five goals so far this season while Burnley allowed a whopping 29.

This Wednesday matchup looks like a lop-sided affair just waiting to happen. I like Liverpool by two goals and you should too.

Atlanta United FC (21-7-6) vs. Portland Timbers (15-10-9)

• Where: Mercedes Benz Stadium, New Orleans, LA

Atlanta United FC was on the wrong end of a humbling 1-0 shutout loss against New York the last time they took to the pitch on Wednesday, but Atlanta they still managed to reach the MLS Cup in its second season by winning the aggregate after a 3-0 victory at home on Sunday.

Tim Parker scored in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time for the Red Bulls, but it was too late to mount a comeback in earnest. The championship match against Portland marks the last game for United’s head coach for Argentine Gerardo “Tata” Martino, who is expected to be named Mexico’s national team coach. Portland edged Sporting Kansas City 3-2 on Thursday to win the Western Conference final.

Atlanta will look to forward Josef Martinez and midfielder Miguel Almiron to continue their stupendous campaigns and lift them to victory. Martinez set the regular-season goal-scoring record with 31 goals to beat the previous best by four goals. Almiron has recorded consecutive 14-assist seasons in Atlanta and is one of the best players in the world at creating and finding space.

Portland will turn to Sebastian Blanco and Diego Valeri to lift them to the upset win. Blanco had 10 goals and 11 assists this season while Valeria just seems to be a play or pass ahead of everyone else on the pitch.

Atlanta is by far, the better team in this championship showdown and I believe the finals would have been far more competitive had Kansas City managed to reach the finals. Atlanta is ranked first in scoring (77 goals), first in goal differential (+31) and tied for second in assists. Conversely, Portland is ranked fifth in scoring (63), eighth in goal differential and first in assists. For this match, I’m going to advise you to back Atlanta to get the win by at least two goals in this contest. The United have had the look of a championship team all year long and Kansas City looked like the only team capable of beating them.
