Most expect Man City and Pool to pull away from the field
Based on the odds, most every soccer handicapper expects Manchester City or Liverpool to pull away from the field and win the Premier League trophy. Of the two teams, Man City offers underlay odds.
The odds on Manchester City are horrendous. At -110, City is the lone team that offers less than even money. So far this season, the Sky Blues haven’t played like it. With 8 wins, 5 draws, and 2 losses, Man City has accrued 29 points heading into the weekend. By contrast, Liverpool has 9 wins, 6 draws, and 2 losses for 33 points.
Manchester City is also a favorite to win the Champions League. If you’re looking to back a favorite consider Pool. The Reds look like the better play to win both the UEFA Champions League and the English Premier.
Man U, Southampton, Tottenham, and Leicester look to play spoiler
Manchester United, Southampton, Tottenham, and Leicester offer odds of +600 to +3300 to beat the Sky Blues and Reds and take the EPL in 2021. Among the four teams, the one with the lowest odds, Manchester United, looks best.
United’s current 10 wins, 3 draws, and 3 losses record gives them 33 points. Man United is tied with Liverpool atop the Premier League Standings. Manchester United isn’t on the level of Man City or Pool. With some luck, though, they could end up winning the title.
Tottenham is the second underdog to consider. The Hotspur recently hired Jose Murinho to coach. The move immediately paid dividends as Murinho and Tottenham beat Leeds 23-0 and Burnley 2-0.
Murinho’s strategy should work well with Tottenham’s starting lineup. Who knows? At the beginning of this English Premier League season, the Hotspur were atop the standings. With 29 points, Tottenham could easily climb back to the top. The +1400 odds most definitely attract.
Southampton and Leicester have outside shots of winning the championship. Man City, Liverpool, United and Tottenham must implode for either to claim the crown, though.
