Why Bet On Manchester City?
Despite the fact that Manchester City is coming off a 1-1 draw against Atalanta on Wednesday in their Champions League match on Wednesday, there are some good reasons to back the Citizens in this pairing. Prior to their draw the last time out, Manchester City had won each of its previous five matches including a hard-fought 2-1 win over Southhampton last Saturday. Sergio Aguero and Kyle Walker found the back of the net to lead the way to victory.
“It was a crazy game to play, scoring was one of those crazy moments. It’s always hard playing against 11 behind the ball,” said Walker, who scored his first goal of the season.”We kept knocking on the door and thankfully for me the door came open and I was the one that got the goal.”
Manchester City is in second place in the EPL standings with a league-high 34 goals scored and just 10 allowed in 11 matches. The bad news is that the Citizens could be without goalkeeper Ederson due to injury and are already without Aymeric Laporte and Rodri due to injury as well.
Why Bet On Liverpool?
There are a bunch of good reasons to back the league-leading Reds in this affair. First, Arsenal has won five straight matches including a narrow, 2-1 win over Belgium’s Genk on Tuesday. Liverpool went up 1-0 on Georginio Wijnaldum’s goal before Genk’s Ally Mbwana Samata levelled the match in the 41st minute. The Reds were lifted to victory when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored the winner eight minutes into the second half.
“Every game is tough in the Champions League. It’s a boring saying but it’s true. We need to finish the job now. We are in a good position,” said left-back James Milner.
Then, there’s the fact that Liverpool has only been beaten once in 11 EPL matches this year. Last but not least, the Reds are unbeaten in 43 league matches at Anfield while winning a dozen straight Premier League contests at home. Liverpool is six points in front of Manchester City and looking to take another step toward winning it all. The Reds have scored 25 goals while allowing just nine this season.
Liverpool vs Manchester City Expert Analysis and Prediction
These two rivals played to a 1-1 draw in August, but Liverpool has won two of five with two draws among the last five meetings between these two. More importantly, Liverpool is virtually unbeatable at home and they’ve got a ton to play for, not to mention, they have what I believe is the best trio of stars in the league in Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Robert Firmino. This will be a great match, but Liverpool takes care of business at home in a thriller!
