Since suffering a hat-trick of defeats in May, LA Galaxy has certainly turned a corner. They have gone on to win two and draw four of six. Last time out, Galaxy beat rivals Los Angeles in front of a massive crowd at Rose Bowl.

Philadelphia recently went on a staggering run of seven wins and a draw from eight, but Union has won just one of the last four. They lost 2-0 at Atlanta United in the last one.

LA Galaxy will still be flying after their hard-fought victory over their rivals in midweek, and they could follow it up with another three points here. Check out the tempting MLS odds of +400 for the home win and both teams to score.

Los Angeles’ form has been poor in recent weeks. Since a narrow 1-0 home success over Seattle Sounders in June, LAFC has suffered three consecutive MLS losses. The 2-1 reverse to LA Galaxy in midweek was a huge setback for the Black and Gold.

San Jose makes the short trip to BMO Field looking for a first win in five MLS matches. Luchi Gonzalez’s Quakes have drawn two and lost two after beating Philadelphia at home.  

Derby matches are often tough to call, and this weekend’s matchup in Los Angeles could go either way. It could be worth backing the draw and both teams to score at +450.

Our Top Four MLS Weekend Games Betting Picks

Toronto FC vs Seattle Sounders FC

The first game on our list is the match between Toronto FC and Seattle Sounders as they face off in an inter-conference tie between the Eastern and Western Conferences. The game is all about who will get the three points. 

Seattle wants to solidify their spot in the top half of the WC table. Meanwhile, Toronto wants to continue its bright form.

As a result, we don’t expect a cheap match between these two teams. It will be epic, but only one team will come out victorious. 

The teams are not closely matched because Seattle has a better form this season, and Toronto is only just finding its form. Therefore, the game is in favor of the away team.

Although we understand that anything could happen once the game starts, our pick for this game is a 2-1 win in favor of the team from Seattle. We believe Toronto would get a goal, but their shabby defense would be their ultimate undoing. You can also try your luck on both teams to score or over/under options. 

Vancouver Whitecaps vs Los Angeles FC

Since getting to first place early this season, Los Angeles FC has held tight to that position. They have been excellent, and their form is impressive. 

This weekend, they would want to extend their lead when they travel to Vancouver to face the Whitecaps. This tie would be a battle for three points. 

The Whitecaps are two points behind Seattle in seventh place, even though they’ve played more games than the latter. However, they have a chance to close the gap, and following their impressive recent run of four wins in their last five matches, this is something they can do. But to defeat LAFC, they would have to be on their A-Game. 

Therefore, we don’t see the Whitecaps winning this game. We think LAFC will continue their impressive run in the league. 

As a result, our pick for this match is 3-1 in favor of the visitors from Los Angeles. We expect the Whitecaps to get a goal, but we don’t think they can take any points from this game. 

Sporting Kansas City vs New York Red Bulls

Our next game takes us to Kansas City at the Children’s Mercy Park Stadium, where Sporting Kansas City will be hosting the New York Red Bulls. It will be an epic tie between teams from both conferences. 

NY Red Bulls are currently fourth on the log in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, Kansas City is having a terrible season wallowing in 13th place.

SKC has already played 18 games this season, which is more than any other team in the league this season. Therefore, they don’t seem to have what it takes to compete. They can only try to see out the remaining games left. 

On the other hand, the Red Bulls would want to protect their spot in the top seven or try to get closer to Philadelphia in number one. 

Therefore, we don’t see the Red Bulls missing the opportunity to add three points to their tally when they go to Kansas. In that case, we expect them to win the match easily. As a result, our pick for this game is 3-0 in favor of the New York Red Bulls. 

Nashville SC vs Portland Timbers

Finally, on our list, we have Portland Timbers and Nashville SC. The Timbers will be traveling to Nashville to play at Geodis Park. 

The team would be looking to get enough points as they would want to close the gap on Seattle in seventh place. They’re currently four points from the playoff zones. Therefore, a win here will boost their morale. 

However, Nashville’s position is threatened as they are only five points ahead of eighth-place Houston Dynamo and have played one game more. Therefore, the team would need to get as many three points as possible to make it to the playoffs. So, losing at home or dropping points this weekend won’t be good.

Therefore, we expect a closely tied match, but we think the home team will come out on top. Nashville is strong defensively, but they haven’t scored as many goals as the Timbers. Therefore, we might not see plenty of dreams, and as a result, our pick for the game is 2-1 to Nashville.

On the other side, LAFC is the best team in the league. They have a balanced attack, with the former MLS MVP, Carlos Vela, slightly standing above all others with six goals. The FC has three wins and a draw in the last four events, which is why we consider them favorites in this matchup.

Dallas isn’t consistent lately, posting just one win in the previous five MLS games, suffering three defeats, and recording a draw. In order to compete with LAFC, you need to be at best possible level, and Dallas currently isn’t. 

Seattle Sounders versus Montreal Impact

When: Wednesday, June 29th

The CONCACAF Champions League winners are back in business. Brian Schmezer’s guys have three wins and a draw over the most recent four clashes. That one draw was against LAFC, and by the way, all four games were at home. Seattle looks very confident, displaying high-tempo football throughout all 90 minutes. We want to remind you that the Sounders had a poor start because of the obligation in the final stages of the CCL.

Impact sits third in the East, which is a great situation for the Canadian franchise. With 30 goals scored and 28 allowed, this team provides the most entertaining games in the entire league, so it is really no wonder to see them becoming one of the most popular clubs this season. Wilfried Nancy’s crew comes off a win at home over Charlotte, 2-1. That was the fourth event with over 2.5 goals in Impact’s last five appearances. 

The home unit is very good at Lumen Field, and they’ve shown that over the past few weeks. Even though they don’t have the best player, Raul Ruidiaz, who is injured, they should win without any problems.

FC Cincinnati at NY City

When: Thursday, June 30th

The hosts are showing signs of life, while on the other side, the champions are in a whirl. NYCFC has been without a win since Rony Deila decided to resign and leave for Belgium. They’ve lost the top spot in the East and did that against the biggest rivals, Philadelphia Union, in a direct encounter, 2-1. Previously, NYC lost in the US Open Cup to the local rivals, the Red Bulls, which was another painful blow for the champs.

As for Cinci, they took one point in Philly against Union, 1-1, and after that, beat Orlando City at home, meaning their form is on the rise. We’ve seen them pretty tough in these two games, especially in the back line, which is why we sense a sort of a surprise at TQL Stadium on Wednesday night. 

Our pick here is for the hosts to stay unbeaten. The odds are very tempting, which is another reason to take a risk and go for it.
