New York City FC vs. New York Red Bulls

MLS Odds: New York City -0.5; New York +0.5 / New York City +115; New York +234; Draw +285 / O/U 2.5
Saturday, September 17th, 2023 at 3:30 PM
Yankee Stadium, New York City, USA

The Cityzens haven’t been in a good run of form recently. New York City FC is 1-3-1 over its past five matches. NYCFC has been effective at keeping possession, controlling the ball for over 50 percent of the game in all those contests, but couldn’t find its finishing touch.

Brazilian forward Gabriel Pereira has been NYCFC’s top attacking option, producing six goals this season. The Red Bulls lead the all-time series between the two teams 15-8-3 in all competitions. The Red Bulls have won their past two meetings with NYCFC, including 1-0 victories this season in MLS and the Leagues Cup.

The Red Bulls have struggled as of late. They have lost five of their last six matches, including a 4-1 defeat to Philadelphia during their last match. NYCFC is +115 to win the match on the three-way moneyline, while the Red Bulls are +245. The over/under has been set at 2.5 goals.

Atlanta United vs. Inter Miami

MLS Odds: Atlanta +0.5; Inter -0.5 / Atlanta +199; Inter +120; Draw +285 / O/U 3.5
Saturday, September 17th, 2023 at 5:00 PM
Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA

Inter Miami are still determining if it will have Lionel Messi in the lineup against Atlanta. Messi aggravated an injury while helping the Argentine men’s soccer team beat Ecuador in a World Cup qualifier recently. Argentina held him out of their next match with Bolivia as a precaution.

What Messi’s status is, Inter Miami’s battle with the Five Stripes should provide fireworks. Atlanta United has scored 51 goals this season and likes to attack.

Inter Miami now has plenty of firepower to keep up. Playing without Messi on Sept. 9, Inter Miami was able to score three goals and trip up Sporting KC. Inter Miami needs to keep getting points to make a serious run at the MLS playoffs.

This game is viewed as a virtual tossup. Atlanta United is +150 on the three-way moneyline, while Inter Miami +160. The over/under has been set at 3.5 goals.

Houston Dynamo vs. St. Louis FC

MLS Odds: Houston -0.5; St. Louis +0.5 / Houston -114; St. Louis +295; Draw +285 / O/U 2.5
Saturday, September 17th, 2023 at 8:30 PM | FOX
Shell Energy Stadium, Houston, Texas, USA

Houston is in a good run of form as the Dynamo have recorded points in five straight matches. The Dynamo have won three of those games and put up ten goals in the three games they won. St. Louis FC has encountered tough challenges over the past few weeks.

St. Louis FC dropped matches to Orlando City and Sporting KC before playing to a draw with the LA Galaxy. St. Louis is still in first place in the Western Conference and wants to trip up another contender in Houston.

Houston is -132 on the moneyline, while St. Louis is +335. The over/under has been set at 2.5 goals.

Top 2021 MLS Matches to Bet On: Kansas City and Seattle Battle For The Leadership

Previous Betting News

There was a little bit of Major League Soccer action on Wednesday night, but for a full slate of action, fans should be excited for this weekend. Saturday night is jam-packed with compelling matchups while Sunday has a few gems as well. Let’s take a look at some of the best games on the MLS schedule this weekend so you can get ready to bet against the MLS odds.

Top MLS Games to Watch and Wager On the Weekend (Sep 25th – 26th)

Philadelphia Union vs Atlanta United FC

The weekend kicks off with a Saturday matinee in the City of Brotherly Love. The Union is a home favorite at +110 despite being close to even in the standings with Atlanta, which has a Moneyline of +210. Both teams are on the edge of the playoff picture with Atlanta one point ahead of Philadelphia but with the Union playing one fewer game. United has found its rhythm offensively, scoring 10 goals in the team’s last three games. The Five Stripes have conceded just two goals in those three matches while also winning five of six overall, making them one of the hottest teams in the league. At the same time, Philadelphia has conceded the fourth-fewest goals in MLS this season, so they are a tough egg to crack and are coming off an impressive 3-1 win over Orlando.

Minnesota United FC vs Houston Dynamo FC

This is one of the more lopsided matchups of the weekend but an intriguing battle nonetheless. Houston sits eight points behind Minnesota for one of the final playoff spots in the Western Conference. But after beating Dallas last weekend, the Dynamo has two wins and a draw in their last three games, giving them plenty of momentum and making them an interesting underdog at +350. At the same time, it’s impossible to figure out how Minnesota will play from one game to the next. The Loons were embarrassed 4-0 against Sporting Kansas City but then bounced back last weekend with a 3-0 win over LAFC, so who knows what version of Minnesota will show up on Saturday night despite being -142 favorites at home.

San Jose Earthquakes vs Los Angeles FC

Both of these teams are outside of the playoff picture but within striking distance, so three points would very much be appreciated on each side. While just three points separate these teams in the standings, it’s LAFC that’s favored on the road at +110 while San Jose’s Moneyline is listed at +205. LAFC had won three in a row before losing to Portland last weekend, although there’s no shame in losing to the Timbers these days. San Jose, on the other hand, just snapped a three-game winless run, although in less-than-convincing fashion with a 4-3 win over last-place Austin.

Sporting Kansas City vs Seattle Sounders

The biggest game of the weekend is Sunday night between Kansas City and Seattle. The former is currently at the top of the Western Conference standings, just one point ahead of the Sounds. Of course, Sporting KC has played one extra game, so the Sounders control their own destiny. Yet, it’ll be Kansas City that’s favored at home with a -105 Moneyline compared to Seattle’s +255 Moneyline. As mentioned, Kansas City’s last game was a 4-0 thrashing of Minnesota, so the Wizards appear to be back on track after a rough patch. The Sounders, meanwhile, have lost two of their last three league matches despite conceding the fewest goals in MLS this season.

Top Games of The Week to Bet On | MLS Betting October 13th Edition

Montreal Impact (6-2-9) Vs New England Revolution (6-7-4)

When: Wednesday, October 14 at 7:30 PM ET

Montreal is sitting in eighth place in the Eastern Conference with 20 points while New England is in sixth place with 25 points. Montreal has scored 25 goals while allowing 32 defensively. New England has put 17 goals in the back of the net while conceding 14 goals defensively. The Revolution have won two straight in this rivalry including an emphatic 3-1 win on Sept. 23.

Money Lines: New England -111 / Montreal +250 / Draw +286
Total: 3

Prediction

While these two Eastern Conference rivals have recorded an identical six wins heading into this clash, Montreal has more than twice as many losses (9) as New England (4). More importantly, the revolution are the far better defensive team in this affair and the only club with a positive goal differential margin. Montreal has lost three of their last five including a 2-1 loss against Philadelphia in their last match. New England has won three of their last five including a 2-1 win over New York FC the last time out. New England gets the two-goal win!

Pick: New England 3 Montreal 1

Chicago Fire FC (5-4-8) Vs Sporting Kansas City (9-2-5)

When: Saturday, October 17 at 3:30 PM ET
Money Lines: Kansas +177 / Chicago +129 / Draw +252

Chicago is in ninth place in the Eastern Conference with 19 points while Sporting Kansas City is in third place in the Western Conference with 29 points. The Fire have scored 22 goals this season while allowing 26 goals defensively. Sporting Kansas City has scored 29 goals while allowing 22 defensively. Sporting Kansas City has won four straight in this rivalry, including two straight 1-0 wins, most recently on Wednesday.

Columbus Crew (9-4-3) Vs New York City FC (8-2-7)

When: Sunday, October 18 at 6:00 PM ET
Money Lines: Columbus Crew +100 / New York City FC +237 / Draw +249

Columbus is in third place in the eastern conference with 31 points while New York City FC is in fifth place with 26 points. The Crew have scored 26 goals while allowing a league-low 12 goals defensively. New York has scored 22 goals this season while allowing just 15 goals defensively. These two title contenders have split their last five meetings evenly, (2-2-1) with New York recording a 1-0 win the last time they met on Aug. 24.

Okay MyBookie sportsbook betting nation…will the Philadelphia Union or Toronto FC come out on top in the Eastern Conference or could the Columbus Crew SC catch and surpass either one or both of the MLS league leaders? Out west, can the defending champion Seattle Sounders get back to the top of the standings or will Sporting KC continue their bid to claim the western conference crown?

With the 2020 MLS regular season rolling into a brand new week of action, it’s time to take a look at my top three picks of the coming week. Now, let’s find out who’s in action and which teams are offering the best value against their respective MLS odds.

Top Games of The Week to Bet On Oct. 20th Edition | MLS Betting

Vancouver Whitecaps (8-0-12) Vs Seattle Sounders FC (9-5-4)

When: Tuesday, October 27 at 10:00 PM ET
Where: Providence Park, Portland
TV: ESPN+

Vancouver is in seventh place in the western conference standings. The Whitecaps have scored 24 goals but has conceded a league-high 41 goals defensively. The Whitecaps have won three of their last four and got past San Jose 2-1 on Saturday as Ali Adnan and Tosaint Ricketts found the back of the net. Seattle is in second place out west, having scored 36 goals while allowing 18 defensively. The defending champs are coming off consecutive draws, including a 1-1 finish against Portland on Thursday that saw Will Bruin score Seattle’s lone goal.

Prediction

Vancouver +463
Seattle -196
Total: 3

While Vancouver is playing well right now, the Sounders clearly has the Whitecaps number. Seattle has won three straight in this rivalry while going 4-0-1 over the last five meetings. Seattle has put an identical three goals on the board in each of the last two meetings, including their 3-1 home win on Oct. 3. The Sounders needs the win on Tuesday night – and they’ll get it in a thriller!

Pick: Seattle 3 Vancouver 2

Philadelphia Union (12-5-3) Vs Chicago Fire FC (5-6-8)

When: Wednesday, October 28 at 7:30 PM ET
Where: Subaru Park, Philadelphia
TV: ESPN+

Philadelphia is sitting atop the Eastern Conference standings. The Union have scored 39 goals while limiting the opposition to just 17 goals defensively. Philly has won two straight games while going 4-0-1 over their last five. The Union come into this affair off an emphatic 5-0 spanking of previously eastern conference-leading Toronto on Saturday that I correctly picked right here! Sergio Santos scored a trio of goals to lead the way to victory while Mark McKenzie and Jamiro Monteiro added solo goals in the win.

Chicago is in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings, having scored 26 goals on the season while allowing 30 defensively. Chicago is unbeaten over their last three games and comes into this matchup off of consecutive draws including a 2-2 finish against the Red Bulls on Saturday.

Prediction

Philly won four straight in this series – until having their winning ways snapped – against Chicago in their humbling 2-0 road loss in August of last year. Still, I like Philadelphia to get the convincing home win in this matchup to both, extend their winning ways while extracting some revenge in the process.

Pick: Philadelphia 3 Chicago 2

Portland Timbers (9-5-5) Vs LA Galaxy (5-3-10)

When: Wednesday, October 28 at 10:00 PM ET
Where: Providence Park, Portland
TV: ESPN, ESPN Deportes

Portland is sitting in third place in the western conference standings. The Timbers have scored 39 goals while allowing 31 goals defensively. Portland has gone 2-1-2 over their last five and come into this affair off of consecutive draws including a 1-1- finish against Seattle on Thursday. The Galaxy are last in the 12-team western conference standings having scored 22 goals while allowing 36 defensively. Los Dos have dropped four of their last five and come into this matchup off a humbling 2-0 loss against in-city rival LAFC on Sunday.

Prediction

Portland has won four of five in this rivalry including a 6-3 thrashing on October 7 that saw Felipe Moira and Jeremy Ebobisse both score a pair of goals. The Timbers will get the convincing win again in the mid-week matchup.

Pick: Portland 4 LA Galaxy 1
