FC Cincinnati had an entire offseason to think about what life would be like when it matched up with the Columbus Crew again. Last season was the best in FC Cincinnati’s history, as the Orange and Blue finished the MLS season with the top overall record to earn the Supporter’s Shield for the first time. But in the Eastern Conference finals, FC Cincy would end up losing in extra time against Columbus.
The Crew went on to win the MLS Cup. Columbus and FC Cincinnati will meet early in this season, with both sides nearly at the top of the Eastern Conference standings. The Orange and Blue are in second place and have played suffocating defense.
FC Cincinnati has only allowed nine goals in 11 MLS matches this season. Columbus has also allowed only nine goals in 10 matches. However, the Crew have been struggling to come away with victories. Columbus has settled for six draws this season.
Columbus is -122 to win at home, while FC Cincinnati is +295 on the three-way moneyline. This match is +280 to end in a draw. The over/under for this match is set at 2.5, with the over priced at -139 and under priced at +110.

Life as a professional athlete is difficult enough. Having your coach draw the ire of a soccer community following a loss was the last thing Dynamo FC needed to worry about. Houston continued a run of poor play by being knocked out of the competition by relegation side Detroit City FC.
After the match, Houston’s coach felt his team was still far better than the competition. The Dynamo haven’t proved they can stack up with their peers recently. Houston has lost three of its previous five league matches. Last time out, the Dynamo finished in a scoreless tie with St. Louis.
Houston has now failed to score in three straight matches. Heading on the road to take on Sporting KC could be a nice bounce-back spot. Sporting is in the middle of a five-match winless streak. Kansas City’s problem has come defensively.
Sporting KC has given up three or more goals in three matches during its current winless streak. This should be a strong match between two teams that need a win. Taking a flier on the Dynamo at +255 isn’t a bad number. Sporting KC is +104, while the match is +245 to end in a draw. The over/under has been set at 2.5 goals.

Providence Park, Portland, Oregon, USA
The Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers are two of the MLS’ most successful franchises. But both sides are outside of the playoff picture right now. Both teams are sporting 2-4-5 (win-draw-loss) records. That should give a little spark between the two Western Conference rivals.
The Sounders seemed to have figured some things out. In the previous two matches, Seattle has picked up a win and draw over Philadelphia and the LA Galaxy. The Sounders still have to develop a more consistent attack if they want to continue climbing toward playoff contention.
Seattle has been shut out in three of its last five matches. During that same stretch, the Sounders have scored two or more goals in three of those contests. Portland missed in an eight-match winless streak. The Timbers have been torched on their defense over the previous seven matches.
Portland has allowed two or more goals in its previous matches. The Timbers are +160 to win at home, while Seattle is +155. The match is +250 to end in a draw. The over/under has been set at 2.5 goals.

Stade Saputo, Montreal, Canada
The Herons had high hopes when they brought in Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. This season, Inter Miami has seen its attack develop into the best in the league. During Inter Miami’s current four-match winning streak, the Herons have scored three or more goals in each match.
The Herons would like to see that momentum keep going against CF Montreal. Montreal is currently sitting in 11th place in the Eastern Conference and has a minus-7 goal differential. Montreal has needed help scoring over the previous two matches.
Montreal was shut out by Columbus, which was the fourth time Montreal has been shut out this season. Montreal needs to find a way to score consistently. Matias Coccaro has three goals for the team this season.
Inter Miami is -113 on the three-way moneyline. CF Montreal is +255 to win in regulation, while the match is +295 to end in a draw. The over/under has been set at 3.5 goals. This match should find a way to go over the total. The Herons are hot and Montreal will have a hard time slowing them down.

The Union picked up points during their first seven matches of the season. Philadelphia has hit a skid recently. The Union is on a three-game winless streak and has struggled to close down other teams’ attacks.
Philadelphia has allowed two or more goals in four straight matches. Being back at home against Orlando should help Philadelphia settle back in. Orlando City has lost two straight matches. The Magic have been limited to an xG of .9 or fewer during a pair of consecutive losses to Toronto FC and FC Cincinnati.
Orlando City currently has a goal differential and is second to last in the Eastern Conference standings. Philadelphia is -112 to win on the three-way moneyline. Orlando City is +280 to win in regulation, while the match is +265 to end in a draw. The over/under has been set at 2.5 goals.
This is a good spot to back Philadelphia. The Union have been the most consistent team this season and should find a way to win. Orlando will have a hard time keeping up.

MLS Week 12: May 13-14, 2023
New York Derby
New York Red Bulls vs New York City FC
MLS Odds: Red Bulls -0.5 +100, City FC +0.5 -128 / Red Bulls +105, City FC +285, Draw +230 / O/U 2.5
When: Saturday May 13, 7:30 pm ET
Where: Red Bull Arena | Harrison, New Jersey
TV / Streaming: ATV
The two New York teams had opposite results in the U.S. Open Cup this week. The New York Red Bulls were victorious over D.C. United, while New York City FC lost at FC Cincinnati. On Saturday, they meet up at Red Bull Arena for their first meeting of 2023, and both teams looking to get the momentum back on their side.
The Red Bulls made a coaching change last week, and the team responded by winning 1-0. The team hasn’t been scoring goals, but that could change with a new coach and system. If Troy Lesesne can find a little magic, the defense has been good enough to carry this team up the standings.
NYCFC doesn’t have to go far this week, but they’ve lost two straight on what is a five-game road trip. Dating back to last July, they have just two wins in their last 14 road games, and this year they have just two draws in six road contests. Last year they won both Hudson River Derby games with a 1-0 win in New Jersey and a 2-0 win at home.
Both teams are desperate for a win. MyBookie has the Red Bulls as the favorites at +105 on the moneyline, with NYCFC at +275. A draw is +230 and could be the way to go on this one as it seems to have 1-1 written all over it.

An Interesting California Clasico
LA Galaxy vs San Jose Earthquakes
MLS Odds: Galaxy -0.5 -118, Earthquakes +0.5 -107 / Galaxy -112, Earthquakes +295, Draw +280 / O/U 2.5
When: Sunday May 14, 9:30 pm ET
Where: Dignity Health Sports Park | Carson, California
TV / Streaming: ATV
The LA Galaxy may have turned things around this week with a U.S. Open Cup win over first-place Seattle Sounders. They took advantage of the Sounders’ resting key players and possibly snagged some much-needed confidence with a pair of goals and a home win.
Now they welcome longtime rivals San Jose Earthquakes to town for a California Clasico. The road team has won the last four matchups in this rivalry, and after the Galaxy dominated the series for years, San Jose is 5-3 in the last eight games.
This is officially the worst MLS start in Galaxy history, with just six points from 10 games. Meanwhile, San Jose has 18 points after 11 games, their most since 2016, but they haven’t won on the road this season. In fact, their only win in the last 25 games away from home came at the expense of the Galaxy last July.
A bet to look at for this game is for Earthquakes striker Jeremy Eboibisse to score. He has netted a goal in all five career games at Dignity Health Sports Park and he has eight goals in 10 career games against the Galaxy. On the moneyline the Galaxy are -112, with the Earthquakes at +295 and a draw at +280.

Top 2022 MLS Week 12 Matches to Bet On the Weekend
Previous Betting News
This is a busy period for the MLS teams as a majority of teams had games mid-week, giving them three contests in a week. The standings are still pretty tight-packed at the top in both conferences, but some teams have fallen on hard times in May and slipped down the standings with the congested schedules.
This is the time of the year when the contenders separate themselves. This weekend provides a unique scheduling setup with a few of the top teams from each conference playing each other so you can bet against their MLS Odds. The weekend also features a rare matchup between two of the biggest drawing teams in the league.

Austin, Orlando Battling For Crucial Points
A pair of teams off to very good and surprising starts meetup on Sunday night as Orlando City travel to face Austin FC. The Lions were one of the few teams in the league that didn’t play during the week, so they will be well-rested for their trip to the capital of Texas. Austin FC joined MLS last year, and these teams have never met.
Austin FC went on the road this week and knocked off LAFC 2-1 to take over first place in the Western Conference. Ruben Gabrielsen scored in the 13th minute, and Diego Fagundez doubled the lead in the 80th minute off a brilliant pass from April Player of the Month Sebastián Driussi. Driussi leads the team with seven goals, while Fagundez has seven assists.
The Lions last played in a 1-0 win at Toronto FC on May 14, as Kyle Smith’s header in the second minute of stoppage time earned all three points. Facundo Torres has two goals, while Mauricio Pereyra leads the team with five assists. Orlando City enters this showdown in a four-way tie for second in the East, one point behind leaders Philadelphia Union.
At MyBookie, Austin is favored at home to take all three points, at +111. Orlando City is +225 on the road to win the match with a draw at +245. The total goals is listed at 2.5, with the over at -147 and the under at +110.
New Look to Southeast Rivalry
Unlike the last two years, now when Nashville SC and Atlanta United meet in their rivalry game on national TV, it isn’t a conference battle. With Charlotte entering the Eastern Conference, Nashville shifted to the West this season, and they sit in sixth place on 18 points. Atlanta is having a resurgence this season, and they are in seventh place with 15 points, despite playing one less game than the teams above them in the table.
Atlanta is adjusting to life without veteran goalkeeper Brad Guzan, who suffered an Achilles injury last month. They have played six games since then, four in MLS action, with nine goals allowed in that span. Bobby Shuttleworth took over and among his starts so far were the 3-2 loss in the U.S. Open Cup when Nashville overcame a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2.
Nashville won that contest in dramatic fashion as C.J. Sapong tied the game in the second minute of stoppage time. Ethan Zubak needed the winner in the 93rd minute, and Atlanta couldn’t find an answer in the final 27 minutes. The teams are 2-2-2 head-to-head in their six MLS battles since Nashville joined MLS.
While Atlanta had the midweek off, Nashville beat Montreal CF 2-1 at home with a goal from Alex Muyi and a strike from goal-scoring leader Hany Mukhtar. Now they have a chance for a second-straight win over Atlanta and a second straight win over an East contender.
At MyBookie, Nashville is +102 as the home favorite to get the win. Atlanta is +280, and a draw is +230. Over 2.5 goals is +120 and under 2.5 goals is -156.
Crew Head to Los Angeles
With a 2-1 loss on Wednesday, LAFC fell out of first place in the West for the first time all season. They are equal on points with Austin FC at 23, but with the loss to Austin, they are behind on the tiebreaker. Saturday afternoon, they head across the country, three time zones, to face a struggling Columbus Crew squad on national TV.
This will be the only regular-season matchup this year between two of the biggest clubs in terms of fan base and merch sales. Columbus hasn’t played a home game at Lower.com Field since April 30, and this is their lone game in Ohio in a 50-day span. They were shutout at NYCFC 2-0 last Saturday and drew 2-2 at New England the previous week.
The Crew have struggled to score lately, and they traded striker Gyasi Zardes to Colorado Rapids. Midfielder Lucas Zelarayan was the March Player of the Month with four goals in the first three games, but he is scoreless in the last seven contests. He still leads the team in goals with four, one more than Derrick Etienne Jr.
Carlos Vela scored a late PK for LAFC on Wednesday, and he leads the team with five goals on the season. LAFC have scored 24 goals in 12 games, with six players scoring at least twice so far this season. For the first time all season, LAFC enter a game with a losing streak, having fallen 2-1 to Austin and 2-0 at Colorado Rapids.
MyBookie lists the Crew as a narrow home favorite at +140. LAFC are +190 on the road to take all three points, while a draw is listed at +240. Over 2.5 goals is -128 and under 2.5 goals is +101.
