The question for Inter Miami is whether the presence of the Argentinian star will be enough for them to make up a 14-point deficit to sneak into the Eastern Conference playoffs. Playing on the road will be a good test of Inter Miami’s staying power.

The Red Bulls haven’t been the most exciting team to watch. New York is still on the outside looking in and has played a boring brand of soccer. The Red Bulls have only pocketed 23 goals in 24 MLS games. Eight of New York’s games have ended in draws.

Atlanta United vs. Nashville SC

Nashville is tied with Atlanta in the standings for total points and is looking to play its first MLS game since the break for the Leagues Cup. The Boys in Gold have been excellent in MLS play with defense.

Nashville has only allowed 22 goals in 24 games. Atlanta is +117 on the three-way moneyline, Nashville is +225, and the game to end in a draw is +265.

The over/under has been set at 2.5.

Charlotte FC at Los Angeles FC

Charlotte FC has found that Year 2 in the MLS hasn’t been much easier than Year 1. Charlotte has a -10 goal differential and is sitting a decent margin outside of the playoff spot. With other teams adding reinforcements, it could be a difficult second half of the season for Charlotte.

Charlotte has conceded 40 goals in 23 league games thus far. LAFC, the defending MLS Cup champions, looks like it may be finally rounding into form. The Black-and-Gold demolished Colorado 4-0 to open the back half of MLS play. LAFC doesn’t quite have the scoring magic it had last season but has been effective, pocketing 38 goals in 24 games. The Black and Gold are strong on defense, only allowing 25 goals.

LAFC is +!40 on the three-way moneyline, Charlotte is +188, and the game is +255 to end in a draw. The over/under is set at 2.5 goals.

Following Wednesday’s All-Star Game between the MLS All-Stars and the Liga MX All-Stars, the second half of the MLS season gets underway this weekend with a compelling three days of action. Toronto FC (+275) vs CF Montreal (-114)

Despite Toronto being last in the Eastern Conference standings, the 401 Derby will still be a fascinating rivalry matchup to kick off the weekend on Friday night. Toronto is winless in six straight matches but has too much talent to be as bad as they’ve been. Southern rivals will collide on Saturday afternoon with Nashville facing Atlanta in what should be a tight game. Atlanta’s Moneyline is set at +113 while Nashville has a Moneyline of +225. Nashville is pushing toward a playoff spot this year, although they’ve settled for a draw and just one win over their last five matches. Plus, while Atlanta is just five points back, they’ve also won four in a row heading into the all-star break and will be hoping to keep it going in this budding rivalry.

Los Angeles Galaxy (+380) vs Los Angeles FC (-169)

Even with lopsided betting odds, El Trafico is a key highlight of this week’s MLS schedule. LAFC is a heavy favorite at -172 because of the team’s talent, although Bob Bradley’s squad has lost four in a row and is winless in its last seven league matches.

Both teams may be at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, but emotions are bound to be high in this matchup of two Texas rivals. Dallas knocked off Austin 2-0 earlier this month, but now Austin will get a chance to return the favor on their home field.

In fact, Austin is a slight favorite at +113 while Dallas has a Moneyline of +225. It’s been a rough first inaugural season for Josh Wolff’s team. But Austin did beat in-state rival Houston earlier this month and is coming off a 3-1 win over Portland. That should fill them with confidence against a Dallas team that’s winless in three straight matches.

Portland Timbers (+390) vs Seattle Sounders (-166)

The weekend concludes on Sunday night with another rivalry game. The Sounders head into the Cascadia Cup as sizable favorites with a -166 Moneyline whereas Portland has a +390 Moneyline. Seattle isn’t quite running away with the Western Conference, but they are comfortably in the first place.

The Sounders also dominated Portland in a 6-2 earlier this month amidst their current run of four straight wins across all competitions. The task on Sunday will be monumental for the Timbers, who are currently outside of a playoff spot and are coming off a disappointing 3-1 loss to Austin in their last match.
