Betting MLS Matchday 29 of the Season

Major League Soccer has scheduled a full slate of games for Saturday, August 31.

Top matchups include Columbus hosting New York City, Colorado traveling to Dallas, and one of MLS’s most heated rivalries, Portland Timbers versus Seattle Sounders.

Which teams get it done?

Checkout soccer odds, analysis, and free picks for six of this Saturday’s top MLS contests.

Writer’s Picks for Top Games in Matchday 29

Columbus Crew -136 vs New York City FC +330

Inter Miami continues to boast a 10 points lead over Columbus on the MLS Standings.

That could change soon, though, because the Crew is on fire.

Not only has Columbus won 5 straight, but during the streak, they dusted LAFC 3-1 in the League Cup Championship and then followed up the win with a 1-0 victory over Philadelphia.

NYCFC doesn’t have much chance of even forcing a draw.

MLS Pick: Columbus Crew

FC Cincinnati -1.5 +101 vs CF Montreal +1.5 -133

Cincinnati doesn’t take on Montreal playing their best soccer.

After dominating in 3 straight matches, the home side chalk in this struggled in losses to Philadelphia Union and Inter Miami.

Even though Cincinnati is struggling, they’re the pick to cover the spread line.

Montreal was down right pathetic in a 2-0 loss to Philly Union and a 5-0 loss to New England in their last two.

Back FC Cincinnati to win this by at least 2 in regulation.

MLS Pick: FC Cincinnati -1.5

Orlando City SC -1.5 +130 vs Nashville SC +1.5 -175

Orlando City is on a 2-match losing streak.

There are reasons to believe the streak ends on Saturday.

Orlando faces a team that has dropped 5 straight.

Nashville has not only lost 5 in a row, but the road dog in this has lost 4-of-5 by at least 2 goals.

Back Orlando to cover.

MLS Pick: Orlando City

FC Dallas +128 vs Colorado Rapids +189

The Rapids offer decent odds to upset a reeling Dallas squad.

The home team in this matchup has lost 2-of-3.

Dallas beat D.C. 4-3 in their last, but that’s not enough of a reason to back them versus the Rapids.

Colorado has won 4-of-5.

A couple of the wins were versus two of the best teams in the Mexican Liga, America and Toluca.

The Rapids score the upset win.

MLS Pick: Colorado Rapids

LAFC -169 vs Houston Dynamo FC +420

To LAFC’s credit they didn’t allow the 3-1 spanking at the hands of Columbus to deter them in their next game.

Los Angeles bounced back after the Leagues Cup Championship debacle besting Seattle 1-0 in a nice road win.

Houston has lost 2 straight and 3-of-4.

The Dynamo aren’t playing well enough to force a draw.

Go with LAFC at the better than expected odds.

MLS Pick: LAFC

Portland Timbers +118 vs Seattle Sounders FC +204

Before Seattle’s May 12 victory over Portland, these two had drawn in a couple of matches in 2023.

A third draw in the last 4 makes sense because neither team is at the top of their game.

Portland shows a loss and a draw in their last 2.

Seattle has 2 losses and a win in their last 3.

If you want to take a swing on the Sounders at the nice odds, go for it.

But if you’re looking for the likeliest bet to hit, back the draw.

MLS Pick: Draw

Top MLS Games that are Worth Watching and Betting On this Weekend

Austin FC vs. San Jose Earthquakes

MLS Odds: Austin +228, San Jose +190, Draw +260
When: Saturday, April 29, 8:30 pm ET
Where: Q2 Stadium, Austin, Texas
TV / Streaming: MLS Season Pass

The boys from Texas are in a problem, as they couldn’t post a win for the last five events. The elimination by Viollete in the CONCACAF Champions League apparently ruined the chemistry. Even though we didn’t see too many starters in that matchup, the atmosphere was ruined, and as a consequence, Austin has been scoreless for the past three clashes.

On the other side are the Quakes, who were eliminated from the US Open Cup by Monterey Bay, 1-0. Previously, they were beaten in Salt Lake, 3-1. Though, this team plays solid football, with Cristian Espinoza leading the way. The Argentinian is the third scorer in the MLS with six goals and also has two assists.

At some point, Austin’s attack will have to deliver, and the game against the Quakes is an excellent opportunity. Meanwhile, Espinoza and the guests have a mediocre defense against them, which is why we should see goals on both ends here.

MLS Pick: Austin | Bet Austin FC vs. San Jose Earthquakes Today

Toronto FC vs. New York City

MLS Odds: Toronto -0.5 +131, New York +0.5 -168 / Toronto +138, New York +195, Draw +244 /O/U 2.5
When: Saturday, April 29, 7:30 pm ET
Where: BMO Field, Toronto, Canada
TV / Streaming: MLS Season Pass

We don’t quite know what’s happening with Toronto, who has six ties in nine events. This team was supposed to battle for the top of the conference, and currently, they sit outside the playoffs zone. FC’s games at BMO Field are exciting, with the hosts often scoring – seven times in four appearances.

City is fourth in the East, but that’s mostly due to their performances at home. Outside the Big Apple, they have two ties and losses each, scoring just two goals. In all four of those contests, City was inferior.

When looking at the roster, the Canadians have a better team and are favorites for many to take all three points. They play flamboyant soccer at BMO, and have huge chances of beating NYC, who looks flat on the road.

MLS Pick: Toronto FC | Bet Toronto FC vs. New York City Today
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Game

Chicago Fire vs. New York Red Bulls

MLS Odds: Chicago Fire +380, New York -145
When: Saturday, April 29, 8:30 pm ET
Where: Soldier Field, Chicago, Illinois
TV / Streaming: MLS Season Pass

Fire posted mixed results lately, but overall, they can be satisfied with their performances. They need to improve slightly at home, where they have four ties and one win since the MLS began. We’ve seen them lacking luck in certain moments, but hopefully, for their fans, that should change in the future.

On the other side, New York Red Bulls have only one victory since the campaign started, which frustrates the entire organization and the fans. What makes things worse before this matchup are injuries, with several players sidelined.

There isn’t a better chance for Fire to take three points at home than this one. The Bulls face multiple problems, and seeing them unbeaten in Illinois would be a big surprise.

MLS Pick: Chicago | Bet Chicago Fire vs. New York Red Bulls Today

Top 2021 MLS Matchday 29 Matches to Bet On the Weekend: New England Revolution Looking to Get Back On Track

Previous Betting News

Important World Cup qualifiers for the U.S. Men’s National Team will take center stage on Thursday and Sunday, but Friday and Saturday belong to Major League Soccer. Despite some national team players missing out, there is a full slate of MLS action this weekend. Let’s check out some of the top games on the schedule so you can bet against the MLS odds.

Top MLS Games to Watch and Wager On the Weekend (Sep 3rd – 4th)

Nashville SC vs New York City FC

The fun gets started on Friday night with a game between two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, as Nashville is hosting NYCFC. The betting odds for this game couldn’t be much tighter with Nashville being a slight underdog at +165 and NYCFC at +155. Not only does Nashville have one of the best defensive records in MLS but they also have two reliable goal scorers in C.J. Sapong and Hany Mukhtar, who have combined for half of the team’s 34 goals this season. Coming off a road win over Atlanta last weekend, Nashville has outscored its last three opponents 8-3. It’s also worth noting that NYCFC is winless in its last five away matches despite having the best goal difference in MLS.

Philadelphia Union vs New England Revolution

While they are running away with the Eastern Conference, the Revolution showed that they are actually human when they lost 2-0 to NYCFC last weekend. That loss snapped a nine-game unbeaten stretch and also helped to make the Revs underdogs this week with a Moneyline of +210 while the home team is at +108. Keep in mind that Tajon Buchanan, who has been scorching hot lately, will miss the game while playing with Canada. Of course, the Union will be without goalie Andre Blake. Also, Philadelphia has just one win in its last five league games, so this isn’t a team that’s trending in the right direction.

Orlando City SC vs Columbus Crew

Orlando has a perfect opportunity to break away from the pack in the Eastern Conference and inch closer to New England when they host Columbus on Saturday. The home team is heavily favored at -133 while the visiting Crew is listed at +340. Daryl Dike is working his way back from injury and wasn’t called up for international duty, so he could return to the starting lineup in this game and give Nani some help in Orlando’s attack, especially with Canadian playmaker Tesho Akindele unavailable. As for the Crew, they stopped a six-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over Cincinnati last weekend. But with 17 goals conceded in their last seven games, Columbus needs to shore things up defensively if they want to grab another positive result.

San Jose Earthquakes vs Colorado Rapids

The weekend ends with the Earthquakes playing host to Colorado in what should be a tight matchup. The Rapids are slight favorites on the road at +141 while San Jose’s Moneyline is listed at +170. Colorado is just four points out of first place in the Western Conference but with two games in hand. After earning a draw against Sporting KC last week, the Rapids are unbeaten in six straight games. They have one of the best defenses in MLS, making it tough for the Earthquakes, who have scored just 24 goals in 20 games this season. To be fair, San Jose has gone 10 straight matches without a loss, so perhaps a draw at +240 is the best option in this game.

Top MLS Games of The Week to Bet On (May 29th – May 30th)

Saturday, May 29th Matches

CF Montreal +285 / Chicago Fire FC -120

The Fire had been on a 4-match losing streak. On May 22, though, Chicago beat Inter Miami 1-0. CF Montreal has lost 2 straight. Montreal does have a victory over Inter Miami just like the Fire. That’s a good enough reason to back the road dog.

Soccer Pick: CF Montreal

Orlando City +188 / New York Red Bulls +122

This should be a competitive match. Before the Red Bulls 2-match losing streak, they had won 2 straight, beating Chicago Fire and Toronto FC by the same 2-0 score. Orlando City has 3 wins and 2 draws in their last 5. NYRB is an underlay at their current odds. Give Orlando the nod.

Soccer Pick: Orlando City

Toronto FC +211 / Columbus Crew +108

On May 22, Columbus got back to winning soccer matches with an entertaining 2-1 victory over New York City FC. That should be all the Crew requires to go on a win streak. Toronto is an okay soccer club. But they shouldn’t beat Columbus on the road.

Soccer Pick:

Nashville SC +204 / Atlanta United FC +112

ATL U and Nashville show similar form. Atlanta has a win and 3 draws in their last 4. Nashville has 2 wins and 3 draws in their last 5. In the last head-to-head, Nashville rolled, beating Atlanta U 4-2. The odds make Nashville an overlay. So that’s the way were going.

Soccer Pick: Nashville

New York City FC +295 / LAFC -136

On May 22, after dropping matches to the L.A. Galaxy and Seattle Sounders, Los Angeles FC grabbed a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids. New York City has 2 draws and a loss in their last 3. These two have drawn in their only head-to-head matches. LAFC should win, but this season their form has been spotty at best. Another draw is possible.

Soccer Pick: Draw

San Jose Earthquakes +233 / L.A. Galaxy -106

Galaxy fans had won 3-of-4 and 2 in a row. It sure looked as if LAG might be one of the better teams in MLS this season. But, then, the Galaxy traveled to Portland where the Timbers promptly dominated them 3-0. The Earthquake are on a 3-match losing streak. Ah, but in the last head-to-head, San Jose trembled the Galaxy with a 4-0 win. Give the Earthquakes a shot.

Soccer Pick: San Jose Earthquakes

Houston Dynamo FC +338 / Sporting Kansas City -151

KC is in great form. Sporting has 3 wins and 2 losses in their last 5. Houston has 2 wins, 2 draws, and a loss in their last 5. On May 12, Houston beat Sporting KC 1-0. Even though this happens on Kansas City’s pitch, the Dynamo are good enough to win again.

Soccer Pick: Houston Dynamo

FC Dallas +257 / Colorado Rapids -128

Save for a May 22 loss to LAFC, Colorado has rocked it. The Rapids had won 3 straight before the Los Angeles loss. Big D drew 2-2 with Real Salt Lake in their last. Before that, Minnesota beat Dallas 1-0. We often prefer dogs in MLS, but the Rapids’ odds are fair.

Soccer Pick: Colorado Rapids

Sunday, May 30th Matches

Portland Timbers +241 / Philadelphia Union -120

The weekend’s best Major League Soccer match pits two of the top squads in the league against each other. After a rough start to 2021, Portland has settled down. The Timbers are on a 2-match winning streak. Portland beat San Jose 2-0 on May 15. On May 22, the Timbers dominated the Galaxy 3-0. Philadelphia Union has 3 wins and 2 draws in their last 5. The odds on Union don’t make them an underlay. But Portland could be on the verge of a 4 to 5 game winning streak. The Timbers are the play.

Soccer Pick: Portland Timbers

Austin FC +366 / Seattle Sounders FC -175

At -175, the Sounders may be an overlay. Austin has lot 3 straight, including a 1-0 defeat to Nashville in their last. Seattle drew 1-1 with Atlanta in their last. The Sounders had won their previous 4 games. Lay it.

Soccer Pick: Seattle Sounders FC

This week, Major League Soccer returns to their normal schedule. Check out MLS odds and analysis for matches on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Top MLS Games of The Week to Bet On (June 18th – June 20th)

Friday, June 18th Match

New York Red Bulls +123 / Nashville SC +195

Nashville heads into this in better form than the Red Bulls. NSC has 2 wins and 3 draws in their last 5. Even though the New York Red Bulls won their last match against Orlando City, they had lost their 2 previous contests. Nashville gets the nod.

Soccer Pick: Nashville SC

Saturday, June 19th Matches

Orlando City SC +149 / Toronto FC +142

Orlando City had been on a roll, winning 3-of-4 with a draw, before running into the Red Bulls. On March 29, NYRB beat Orlando 2-1. On Saturday, City could bounce back with a victory against Toronto. The home team has lost their last couple, including dropping a match 0-1 against Orlando City on May 22.

Soccer Pick: Orlando City

Chicago Fire +295 / Columbus Crew SC -120

Chicago is going to have a tough time beating the Columbus Crew. The home team has won 2 straight matches. The Fire have a single victory in their last 4. If the handicap odds are fair, consider backing Columbus on the handicap. Otherwise, the moneyline on the home squad is the way to go.

Soccer Pick: Columbus Crew

New England Revolution +220 / New York City FC +100

The New England Revolution heads into this on a 3-match winning streak. New York City FC beat Los Angeles FC in their last. NYCFC looks tough since this happens on their pitch. But the odds make the Revolution an overlay, and we love to back overlays.

Soccer Pick: New England Revolution

Inter Miami CF +195 / DC United +121

In the last head-to-head, Miami beat DC United 3-0. The match happened recently on May 29. DC is getting the benefit of the doubt from the oddsmakers because the rematch happens on their field. But Inter should be just as difficult for DCU to handle on Saturday as they were in the last head-to-head. Going with Miami.

Soccer Pick: Inter Miami CF

San Jose Earthquakes +215 / Austin FC -105

After a great start to the season, the Earthquakes have imploded. San Jose is on a 4-match losing streak. Austin FC has drawn in their last couple, though. Can Austin draw in three straight? They sure can.

Soccer Pick: Draw

Seattle Sounders +131 / Los Angeles Galaxy +179

The Galaxy has won 3-of-4. Seattle has drawn in 2 straight. Because this happens in Los Angeles, the Galaxy have a slight edge. But in the last head-to-head, Seattle dusted LAG 3-0. The Sounders are the play.

Soccer Pick: Seattle Sounders

Sporting Kansas City +160 / Portland Timber +131

Portland hopes to bounce back from their last. The Philadelphia Union drubbed the Timbers 3-0. It won’t be easy for Portland to win this because Sporting Kansas City has 3 wins and a draw in their last 4. But Portland is too good of a team to lay eggs in back-to-back matches.

Soccer Pick: Portland

Houston Dynamo +1 ½ (-129) / Los Angeles FC -1 ½ (-101)

On May 1, these two drew 1-1. So if you plan on backing a team on the handicap, Houston looks like the play. We may have a better idea, though. What’s wrong with another draw? LAFC has lost 3-of-4 and the Dynamo has lost 2-of-3. So these two playing to a second straight draw is possible.

Soccer Pick: Draw

Sunday, June 20th Match

Philadelphia Union +179 / Atlanta United FC +129

Philly has won 3 straight and 4-of-5 with a draw. Atlanta United has a win and 4 draws in their last 5. It feels like Philadelphia gets the win or this finishes in a draw. We’re backing P. Union because the odds make them an overlay.

Soccer Pick: Philadelphia Union

The Galaxy has won 3-of-4. Seattle has drawn in 2 straight. Because this happens in Los Angeles, the Galaxy have a slight edge. But in the last head-to-head, Seattle dusted LAG 3-0. The Sounders are the play.

Previous Betting News

The CONCACAF Gold Cup kicks off this weekend, which is why Major League Soccer has matches from Wednesday through Friday. Check out odds, analysis, and free picks for 10 of the top MLS soccer matches of the week so you can bet against their MLS odds.

Top MLS Games of The Week to Bet On (July 7th – 9th)

Wednesday, July 7th Matches

Toronto FC +1 ½ (-181) / New England Revolution -1 ½ (+134)

Toronto FC has lost 5 straight. But in the last head-to-head, Toronto beat New England 1-0. The match happened in October 2020. The Revolution is a much better team now than they were then.

Soccer Pick: New England Revolution

New York City FC +100 / CF Montreal +250

New York City FC has won 3-of-4. The lone loss happened versus the New England Revolution in a 3-2 game. Last Oct. 24, NYFC dominated CF Montreal 3-1. New York City is an overlay at +100.

Soccer Pick: New York City FC

Orlando City SC +160 / Chicago Fire +150

Orlando City had won 3 in a row, but a 1-2 loss versus the New York Red Bulls on July 3 has soccer handicappers questioning how good Orlando is. Chicago won their July 3 matches, beating Atlanta United 3-0. This could go either way. As long as Orlando City offers better odds, they’ll remain the optimal play.

Soccer Pick: Orlando City SC

Minnesota United FC +270 / Colorado Rapids -108

The Rapids dropped a match to Sporting KC on June 23. Then on July 4, Colorado drew 1-1 with the Seattle Sounders. Although there’s a big chance the Rapids win this, Minnesota’s odds make them an overlay. MN United is the play.

Soccer Pick: Minnesota United

Los Angeles FC +137 / Austin FC +179

On July 1, Austin FC beat the Portland Timbers 4-1. Los Angeles FC has won 2-of-3. But LAFC’s loss versus Sporting KC on June 26 is a sign they’re vulnerable. LAFC beat Austin 2-0 on April 21. The home squad can turn the tables.

Soccer Pick: Austin FC

Real Salt Lake +121 / Vancouver Whitecaps FC +204

Real Salt Lake has 2 losses and a draw in their last 3. Vancouver has drawn twice in their last 2. RSL blasted the Whitecaps 3-1 in the last head-to-head. Vancouver is in much better form for the rematch. The Whitecaps can win this. The best play may be on the draw, though.

Soccer Pick: Draw

FC Dallas +320 / Los Angeles Galaxy -138

The Galaxy dropped their July 4 match, losing 0-2 versus Sporting Kansas City. FC Dallas drew 2-2 versus Vancouver in their Independence Day game. The Galaxy and Dallas haven’t played against each other since 2019. Dallas beat the New England Revolution on June 27. The odds force us to give Dallas a nod.

Soccer Pick: Dallas

Thursday, July 8th Matches

Philadelphia Union +210 / New York Red Bulls +119

The Red Bulls are in decent form. Philadelphia’s form has gone south. But NYRB fell to Philly Union by a goal in the last head-to-head. The Union could bounce back in this and the odds make them an overlay.

Soccer Pick: Philadelphia Union

Atlanta United FC +370 / Nashville SC -156

Atlanta should be in some trouble. The ATL United shows 3 draws and 2 losses in their last 5. Nashville has won 2-of-3 with the third game a 1-1 draw versus CF Montreal. On May 29, Nashville and Atlanta United drew 2-2. The draw is tempting, but Nashville should win.

Soccer Pick: Nashville SC

Friday, July 9th Match

Columbus Crew +170 / FC Cincinnati +144

Columbus has drawn in their last couple. FC Cincinnati has 2 wins and a draw in their last 3. Cincinnati won the last head-to-head. But Columbus should get on track soon. At the odds, the Crew is worth backing.

Soccer Pick: Columbus Crew

Top MLS Games of The Week to Bet On (May 22nd – May 23rd)

Top 2021 MLS Picks for the Weekend

Los Angeles Galaxy (+275) Vs Portland Timbers (-126)

When: Saturday, May 22

The Galaxy have won 4-of-5. Their lone loss in their last 5 happened against the Seattle Sounders on May 2. The Timbers haven’t played great this season. Portland’s form could be turning around, though. The home team beat San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 on May 15. But the odds make Portland an underlay.

Soccer Pick: Los Angeles Galaxy

Toronto Fc (+266) Vs Orlando City Sc (-126)

When: Saturday, May 22

Orlando City has 2 wins and 3 draws in their last 5. Orlando has another edge because it happens on their pitch. On May 12, Toronto beat Columbus 2-0. Then on May 15, TFC drew with New York City Fc 1-1. Orlando should win. Toronto has played well enough, and the odds are high enough, to make them the play.

Soccer Pick: Toronto Fc

Columbus Crew Sc (+363) Vs New York City Fc (-163)

When: Saturday, May 22

Columbus had dropped the name “Crew” from their moniker. The blowback was so intense, Columbus decided to keep the name. Whatever you want to call them, last year’s MLS Tournament winners haven’t played close to the 2020 level yet. Laying -163 is never easy. But NYFC should roll.

Soccer Pick: New York City Fc

New York Red Bulls (+285) Vs New England Revolution (-129)

When: Saturday, May 22

The Red Bulls had won two in a row, but on May 15, Philadelphia beat NYRB 1-0. Is that a sign the Red Bulls are due for a losing streak? Maybe. But the odds on NYRB make them a big time overlay to win this.

Soccer Pick: New York Red Bulls

Real Salt Lake (+239) Vs Fc Dallas (-111)

When: Saturday, May 22

Dallas has drawn and lost in their last couple. Real Salt Lake shows the same form, a draw and a loss. On Oct. 24, RSL and FCD drew 0-0. Either team can win this, but the draw looks like the best play.

Soccer Pick: Draw

Vancouver Whitecaps (+374) Vs Houston Dynamo (-188)

When: Saturday, May 22

Vancouver has a single win in their last 5. Houston’s form isn’t great. The Dynamo also hasn’t won more than a single game in their last 5. The home team in this should be tough to beat. But the odds imply Houston is a lock. They aren’t.

Soccer Pick: Vancouver Whitecaps

Sporting Kansas City (+154) Vs San Jose Earthquakes (+137)

When: Saturday, May 22

San Jose looked like a contender until facing the two Northwest teams, Seattle and Portland. The Sounders beat San Jose 1-0. Portland dusted the Earthquakes 2-0. Sporting KC can win this. But the home squad offers decent enough odds to attract a look.

Soccer Pick: San Jose Earthquakes

Colorado Rapids (+338) Vs Los Angeles FC (-156)

When: Saturday, May 22

What’s up with LAFC? The preseason chalk has lost 2 and drawn twice in their last 4. Colorado is on a 3-match winning streak. Los Angeles FC could struggle against the Rapids. Also, the odds on Colorado are nice.

Soccer Pick: Colorado Rapids

Atlanta United (+375) Vs Seattle Sounders (-153)

When: Sunday, May 23

The Sounders are on fire. They’ve won 4 straight. In many games, it hasn’t been close, like the 3-0 victory over the Galaxy on May 2, and the 2-0 win against LAFC on May 16. ATL U beat Montreal 1-0 on May 15. Sounders are solid.

Soccer Pick: Seattle Sounders

Philadelphia Union (+136) Vs DC United (+174)

When: Sunday, May 23

Based on recent form, Philadelphia Union is an overlay. Philly Union has a couple of wins and a couple of draws in their last 4. DC has a single victory and 4 draws in their last 5. In the last head-to-head, on Oct. 14, DC U and Philly Union drew. The odds are good enough on Philadelphia to warrant a long look.

Soccer Pick: Philadelphia Union

Will inconsistent Tottenham get their act together against unbeaten Bayern Munich? Does a steady Leicester City team have a good chance to get the Soccer Betting upset over an unblemished Liverpool squad? Last but not least, will Atlanta FC extend its dominance over New England when the two rivals square off in their MLS regular season finale?

With the start of a brand new week on hand, let’s find out which teams look like they’re offering some great value at the soccer odds over the course of the coming week.

Top Soccer Betting Picks of the Week – September 30th Edition

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Bayern Munich

When: Tuesday, October 1, 3:00 PM ET
Where: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London
Soccer Betting Odds: Bayern Munich +106

Tottenham played Olympiakos to a 2-2 draw in their Champions League matchup on September 18 and they followed that up with a humbling 2-1 loss to Leicester City in their English Premier League battle the next time out. The Hotspurs then looked lethargic at best in their scoreless draw against Colchester before narrowly getting past Southhampton on Saturday.

Bayern Munich has won three straight matches including an emphatic 3-0 shutout win over Red Star Belgrade in their Champions League opener on September 18. Bayern Munich followed that win up with a 4-0 spanking of Cologne and a 3-2 win over SC Paderborn in consecutive Bundesliga matches.

Expert Soccer Betting Prediction

This one looks like a piece of cake for Bayern Munich that to the stunning play of Bundesliga scoring leader Robert Lewandowski first and foremost and future hall of Fame Thomas Muller to a slightly lesser degree. Bayern Munich 3 – Tottenham 1.

Liverpool vs. Leicester City

When: Saturday, October 5, 10:00 AM ET
Where: Anfield, Liverpool
Soccer Betting Odds: Liverpool -222

Liverpool is a perfect 7-0-0 in EPL play while Leicester City has gone 4-2-1 in their seven matches so far. Liverpool has put a whopping 18 goals in the back of the net while allowing just five. Conversely, Leicester City has scored 13 goals while giving up an identical five.

These two longtime rivals played to a 1-1 draw the last time they met back on January 30, but Liverpool won the previous three matches by a single goal and I like the Reds to get the win again because of superstars Mohamed Salah (4 goals), Sadio Mane (4 goals) and Robert Firmino (3 goals).

Expert Soccer Betting Prediction

Liverpool 2 – Leicester City 1

Atlanta United vs. New England Revolution

When: Saturday, October 5, 4:00 PM ET
Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta
Soccer Betting Odds: Atlanta United -250

Atlanta is tied for the league lead in victories (17-4-12) as they get set for their regular season finale this coming weekend. Atlanta has put a stellar 55 goals in the net this season while allowing just 42.

New England is a far more modest 11-12-10 this season and the Revolution have scored 49 goals, but given up 54 on the season. Atlanta has won two straight in this rivalry including a convincing 2-0 shutout on April 13.

Expert Soccer Betting Prediction

Over the last five meetings, Atlanta has gone 3-2-0 with 7-0 drubbing over the revolution being among their victories. Atlanta wins this one by at least two goals. Atlanta 3 – New England 1.

Top Soccer Betting Picks of the Week – September 9th Edition

MLS

New York FC (15-8-5) v Toronto FC (11-8-10)

When: Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 7:00 PM ET
Where: Yankee Stadium, Bronx, NY

New York City sits atop the MLS standings and heads into the new week riding the wave of a five-match winning streak. New York got past the New England Revolution as Jesus Medina nailed a penalty kick in second-half stoppage time to get the win. Medina also scored in the 70th minute to forge a tie before finishing off New England in the 96th minute with a left-footed shot into the far corner after a foul in the box.

Toronto has gone 2-0-1 over their last three and enters the new week coming off an emphatic 5-1 spanking of Cincinnati on Saturday. Patrick Mullins, Nick DeLeon and Marco Delgado scored in a dominating 18-minute stretch beginning in the 10th minute while Michael Bradley and Nicolas Benezet added goals in the rout. The win helped the Reds move into a fifth-place tie with the New York Red Bulls in the Eastern Conference with five matches left.

Prediction

Toronto is playing well right now, but New York has been rock-steady all season long and they’re playing at home in this intriguing match where they’ve gone a blistering 9-1-4. Toronto is just 4-6-4 on the road and I’m expecting them to fall in this one despite a valiant effort!

Pick: New York FC 3 Toronto 2

English Premier League

Liverpool (4-0-0) vs. Newcastle (1-1-2)

When: Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 7:30 AM ET
Where: Anfield Liverpool, England
Soccer Odds: Liverpool -715/ Newcastle United +1400/Draw +700.00

Liverpool is off to a fantastic 4-0 start through four matches and hits the new week coming off an emphatic 3-0 shutout win over Burnley on Saturday. Roberto Firmino had a goal and an assist as Liverpool recorded a club record 13th consecutive Premier League win. The win helped Liverpool stay atop the Premier League table after Man City had briefly moved ahead of them with a 4-0 win over Brighton earlier in the day.

Newcastle is coming off a humbling 1-1 tie against Watford on Saturday. After falling behind 1-0 just 78 seconds into the match, Newcastle got the equalizer as Fabian Schar beat Ben Foster with a left-foot shot from inside the area just before the half.

Prediction

Liverpool beat Newcastle twice last season including a decisive 4-0 win at Anfield. Superstar Mo Salah scored in both games and Liverpool is just too talented to lose this time around as well. I’m thinking a two-goal win is in order here MYBookie soccer bettors.

Pick: Liverpool 3 Newcastle 1

Norwich City (1-0-3) at Manchester City (3-1-0)

When: Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 12:30 PM ET
Where: Etihad Stadium

Norwich has dropped two straight since getting their only win of the current EPL season. Norwich was on the wrong end of a humbling 2-0 loss against West Ham on Saturday as the Hammers got goals from Sebastian Haller and Andriy Yarmolenko. The Canaries missed a chance to pull the match level in the 31st minute but Todd Cantwell missed a header from close range wide, not to mention the fact that Norwich suffered a big blow when captain Christoph Zimmermann was forced off with an injury following a strong challenge from Haller.

Manchester City has won two straight and comes into this match off an emphatic 4-0 blowout win over as Sergio Aguero scored twice and Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva added goals in the rout. De Bruyne got Man City on the board just 68 seconds into the match which was the17th win in their last 18 league matches for Manchester City.

Prediction

Manchester City is by far, the better team at both ends of the pitch. Norwich City is an awful -4 in goal scoring differential while Manchester City is an impressive +11 through just four matches. Sergio Aguero will find the back of the net at least once in this one while leading Man City to the easy win.

Pick: Man City 3 Norwich City 0

Previous Betting News

Well, the women’s World Cup may have come to an end with another victory by Megan Rapinoe and the dominating U.S. squad, but that sure doesn’t mean your chances of potentially cashing on on some value-packed soccer betting picks has come to an end. No, with plenty of value-packed soccer matches going on across the globe, let’s get to my top picks of the week.

Top Soccer Betting Picks of the Week – July 8th

Friday, July 12

DC United (8-7-5) vs. New England Revolution (6-5-8)

DC United is coming off a humbling 2-0 shutout loss against Dallas as Santiago Mosquera scored one goal and set up another. New England has won two straight by the identical score of 2-1 including a hard-fought win over Colorado the last time out.

Prediction

DC is +4 in the goal scoring differential department while New England is a dismal -14 in goal scoring differential and that alone should tell you all you need to know about this match. While the United don’t have the most impressive record around, they are definitely a better team than New England in this matchup.

MLS Betting Pick: DC 2 New England 1

Houston Dynamo (8-3-7) vs. LAFC (13-4-2)

The Dynamo were on the wrong end of a humbling 3-2 loss against FC Cincinnati the last time out while LAFC has won two straight by a combined scored of 11-2, including their emphatic 6-1 beatdown of Vancouver the last time out.

Prediction

This one looks like a lock to me, seeing as how Los Angeles is a stupendous +34 in the goal scoring differential department while Houston is a meager +3. L.A. gets the win by dominating at both ends of the pitch!

MLS Betting Pick: L 4 Houston 1

Saturday, July 13

Real Salt Lake (8-2-9) at Philadelphia Union (10-6-5)

Salt Lake is coming off a hard-fought 1-0 loss against San Jose the last time out while Philadelphia has won two straight including an emphatic 3-0 win over Montreal the last time out. Salt Lake is an uninspiring -4 in goal scoring while Philadelphia is +11 to rank second in MLS right now.

Prediction

Philadelphia has scored 14 more goals this season than Salt Lake and it is at the offensive end of the pitch that this game will be decided. The Union find the back of the net with regularity while Salt Lake struggles to score as evidenced by the fact that they’ve been limited to one goal or less in six of their last seven games. Philly wins by at least two goals.

MLS Betting Pick: Philadelphia 3 Salt Lake 1
