It’s been such a busy soccer summer that it’s almost easy to forget that the Premier League is starting in less than a month. Teams are already starting to play exhibition games while also ramping up their efforts on the transfer market. In other words, there’s a lot going on and rumors swirling everywhere. Let’s try to catch up on everything that’s happening in the EPL right now so you can get ready to bet against their Premier League odds.

Bound for Milan
After struggling for minutes in a reserve role for the past couple of seasons at Chelsea, Oliver Giroud has finally left the London club and is relocating to Italy. The 34-year-old Frenchman was offered a chance to stay another year with the Blues but chose instead to sign with AC Milan. Of course, Giroud is unlikely to be an automatic starter for Milan this season, as he will be on the depth chart behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
A Wonderful Return
Wolverhampton may not need to sign a striker before the start of the season because they are getting one back in the form of Raul Jimenez. The Mexican international suffered a skull fracture last November and was forced to miss the rest of the campaign. However, Jimenez played 30 minutes in an exhibition game over the weekend against Crewe Alexandra. Jimenez is stepping back on the field for Wolves and new manager Bruno Lage. Barring a setback, Jimenez should be fit for the Wolverhampton season opener next month.
One Comes In, One Going Out?
Arsenal has given its midfield a considerable boost with the recent signing of Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht. The 21-year-old Belgian youth international came up through the Anderlecht academy and became a regular with the first team during the 2019-20 season. The addition of Lokonga marks a changing of the guard for the Gunners in the midfield. Dani Ceballos and Matteo Guendouzi have already left the club this summer, with Ceballos going back to Real Madrid after his loan and Guendouzi leaving for Marseille. There are also strong indications that Granit Xhaka could be on his way to Roma before the transfer window closes, making it critical for Arsenal to bring in a player like Lokonga.
In the Plans
English midfielder Jesse Lingard was so far down the depth chart at Manchester United last season that he went on loan to West Ham United for the second half of the season. But after Lingard played well for the Hammers, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says the player is in United’s plans for the upcoming season. Lingard played the second half of United’s friendly with Derby County over the weekend, with Solskjaer remarking after the match that he liked how Lingard ended last season with West Ham. Of course, the Red Devils are set to bring in Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, which means Lingard will face plenty of competition for playing time.
Up in the Air
With the EPL season quickly arriving, the situations with both Harry Kane and Jack Grealish remain undetermined. Kane has made it clear that he’s interested in leaving Tottenham, with Manchester City being closely linked. But whether City will pay the money Spurs would demand Kane remains to be seen. Meanwhile, Man City looks determined to sign Grealish, perhaps prioritizing him ahead of Kane. Signing both remains a possibility for City, although the club must first sell other players to make room and raise money.
