Odds & Betting Preview for the Top Ligue 1 Round 7 & 8 Matches

After a terrific weekend of Ligue 1 action, the best soccer teams in France are back at it starting on Wednesday. Check out Ligue 1 odds for the Wednesday matches, analyses, and free picks for this week’s top Ligue 1 matches.

Top French Ligue 1 Games to Watch this Week (Sep. 22nd – 26th)

Stade de Reims +380 vs Lille -144

  • When: Wednesday, Sep. 22

Defending champion Lille hasn’t played well. Most believe it’s a matter of time before they get it going. So although the +380 on Stade de Reims is tempting, the better plays are either on the draw, if you believe Lille takes another game before getting into gear, or on the home team.

Soccer Pick: Lille or draw

Clermont Foot +265 vs Stade de Rennais -109

  • When: Wednesday, Sep. 22

In their last 5, Clermont Foot shows 3 draws, a win, and a loss. PSG handed Foot their only loss. Stade de Rennais has lost 3-of-4 with a draw. Clermont may not win this. They have a big chance of grabbing a draw, though.

Soccer Pick: Draw

Marseille +117 vs Angers +220

  • When: Wednesday, Sep. 22

Marseille is on fire. The road team has won 3-of-4 with a draw. The draw happened in a Europa League match versus underrated Lokmotiv Moscow. Give Marseille the nod.

Soccer Pick: Marseille

Strasbourg +275 vs Lens -113

  • When: Wednesday, Sep. 22

Strasbourg played great in their last, a 3-0 victory agianst Metz. Beating Lens on the road is a much different thing than taking down Metz, though. Lens has won 3-of-4. The draw in the last 4 happened against rival Lorient on Aug. 29. Lens offers fair odds.

Soccer Pick: Lens

Nice +117 vs Lorient +210

  • When: Wednesday, Sep. 22

The home team is in tough. Nice has won 3 and drawn twice in their last 5. On Sep. 19, Nice drew 2-2 versus As Monaco. But Nice and Lorient have drawn in the last couple of head-to-head and Lorient’s form implies they play well in this. It’s worth backing the home team.

Soccer Pick: Lorient

Lorient vs Lyon

  • When: Saturday, Sep. 25

After Wednesday’s match versus Nice, Lorient hits the road to battle Lyon. The odds should heavily favor the home team because on Sep. 19, Lyon stood tall against PSG, falling by a goal in a 1-2 match. Lyon is the play to cover the handicap.

Soccer Pick: Lyon

PSG vs Montpellier

  • When: Saturday, Sep. 25

Paris has won all 6 of their Ligue 1 matches and are +12 in goals. Montpellier shows a couple of wins, a loss, and 2 draws in their last 5. On May 12, these two pushed in a 2-2 French Coupe de France match. Taking the goals on Montpellier makes sense. A draw is also a possibility because, eventually, PSG’s form should take a slight backward step.

Soccer Pick: Draw

Nantes vs Stade de Reims

  • When: Sunday, Sep. 26

Stade de Reims has won the last couple of head-to-head matches. But Nantes beat Angers 4-1 on Sep. 19. These two are similar in terms of talent. We’ll back Nantes knowing there’s a likelihood they offer overlay odds.

Soccer Pick: Nantes

As Monaco vs Clermont Foot

  • When: Sunday, Sep. 26

Clermont has 9 points in Ligue 1. That puts the former Ligue 2 squad in sixth place. Foot plays disciplined, which is why their only loss so far this season is to PSG. As Monaco drew with Nice in their last. Foot has an edge because this happens on their pitch.

Soccer Pick: Clermont Foot

Lens vs Marseille

  • When: Sunday, Sep. 26

Both teams have drawn twice and won 3 in their last 5. Marseille has a big edge because this is on their pitch. But Lens won the head-to-head two back and these two drew in the last matchup. The draw should be a decent play.

Soccer Pick: Draw
