Expert Analysis
The reigning champion Germans have been drawn alongside Mexico, Sweden, and Korea Republic in Group F while five-time Cup winning Brazil will face Switzerland in their Group E opener before matches against Costa Rica and Serbia. Both teams should win their respective groups with relative ease. Euro 2016 runners-up France (11/2) are also considered front-runners for World Cup glory and they’ll go up against Denmark, Peru and Australia in Group C where they should also advance without too much trouble. Spain (7/1) is next and they’re expected to win Group B which also features Portugal, Morocco, and Iran. Argentina is the favorite in Group D over Croatia, Nigeria, and Iceland. Lionel Messi and the Argentinians look like a super easy pick in their group after narrowly getting into the World Cup. Belgium (12/1) is expected to beat out England (16/1), Panama and Tunisia in Group G, although England could very well win the group in my estimation. Uruguay (25/1) and everyone’s favorite villain, Luis Suarez, is an even money pick to take Group A over Russia, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. Last but not least, Colombia (28/1), the sweethearts of the 2014 World Cup are favored to win Group H over Poland, Senegal, and Japan.
