NFL Super Bowl LVI Betting Favorites, Longshots & Underdogs

When the NFL season starts, each team has the feeling that they’re going to win the Super Bowl. During training camp, there is an optimism that surrounds each team. Once the regular season starts, then reality sets in. Not long after the regular season starts, it’s fairly easy to separate the contenders from the pretenders.

The Super Bowl odds have been set for each team, and we can see how Vegas thinks each team will fare. We’re now going to group all 32 of the teams into betting tiers. We’ll look at who we think will be some of the favorites to win, teams that fall in the middle of the pack, and the underdog group. With that in mind, let’s jump right into action so you can plan your bets against the Super Bowl odds.

NFL Super Bowl 56 Betting Tiers

The Favorites

In looking at the lines, the oddsmakers think that the Kansas City Chiefs are the team to beat this season. The Chiefs come in at a +500 to win the Super Bowl. Following the Chiefs closely are the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs are returning with all 22 starters from last year’s Super Bowl-winning team. Tampa Bay comes in at a +650 to defend their championship. According to oddsmakers, these two teams are head and shoulders above the rest.

The other teams that we think should be seen as favorites to win the Super Bowl are the San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, and Green Bay Packers.

The Middle of the Pack

Here are some teams that have a shot at making the playoffs. Even if they are a playoff team, we don’t think that they are legitimate Super Bowl contenders.

The Seattle Seahawks lead the way for this group. The Seahawks always seem to find a way into the playoffs, but they can never quite get over the hump. Russell Wilson and the Seahawks should have a great shot at making the playoffs, but we’re not sure that they have what it takes to make it to the Super Bowl.

The Indianapolis Colts have a tough team, but do they have enough to win it all? The Dallas Cowboys, meanwhile, find themselves in this tier as well. The Cowboys will have an explosive offense, but their defensive unit seems to be one of the worst in the league.

The “Middle of the Pack” group comprises the Tennessee Titans, New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, and the Washington Commanders.

The Underdogs

The Underdogs is a group of teams that will more than likely be playing for a high draft pick in the 2022 NFL draft. If you bet on one of these teams, don’t plan on getting much back on your investment.

The Chicago Bears find themselves in the Underdogs group. Chicago has a lot of question marks heading into the season. If Justin Fields can become the quarterback Chicago thinks he can be, then the Bears could be better than expected.

The Bears are joined by the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets, Detroit Lions, and the Houston Texans.

Detroit and Houston could be the two worst teams in the league this season.
