“When I’m talking about progression or looking back at the weeks, I think there are a lot of good things like the way my body has handled the long matches that I have played.” #RG18

French Open Semi-Final Top Half
As we mentioned at the top of this piece, there are a couple of games already underway in the quarter-finals. The first of those games sees top-seeded Simona Halep go head to head with Angelique Kerber. As I write the opening set of that one is heading into a tie-breaker. It is perhaps no real surprise that this one is so close, as these women have evenly split each of their last 10 meetings. Kerber has the distinct edge when playing on clay, though, beating Halep in both of their previous meetings. With that in mind, you would like the German to win and move on as the #12 seed. The other quarter-final is shaping up to be a one-sided affair, with Garbine Muguruza already a set up on Maria Sharapova and with a break of serve already in her pocket in the second. We could spend some time going into the past history between these two, but there seems to be little point in doing so right now given how things are going there. If our predictions play out as we picked, then we are looking at a Kerber/Muguruza semi-final in the top half of the French Open Draw. Muguruza holds a 5-3 edge in previous meetings with Kerber, and also won in their only other meeting on clay. With all of that in mind, I have Garbine Muguruza going all the way to the final this weekend.French Open Semi-Final Bottom Half
We have a pair of American women going head to head in the bottom half of the draw, with Madison Keys and Sloane Stephens set to meet in the French Open semi-final. This is a bit of a surprise when you consider that neither of these women has really played their best tennis on clay this season, but one of them is going to be in the final. There is not much history between the two either, with just two previous meetings between the players. Both of those meetings came on hard court surfaces, and it was Sloane Stephens who emerged victorious in both, winning in straight sets in both of those games. With that in mind, it would be fair to suggest that Stephens is the overwhelming favorite for this one, so let’s go with her as our 2018 Roland Garros Betting pick to advance, where we believe she will face Garbine Muguruza.Last 10 Roland Garros Champions
