These two have battled 40 times. Federer has won only 16 of those matchups. However, they didn’t throw down at all in 2018 and in 2017, Federer got the best of Nadal. Fed beat Rafa in the 4 matches in 2017. He also beat Nadal on the hard surface at Indian Wells earlier this year while the King of Clay took down Federer at the French Open in the last major.
