Top Tennis Betting Picks for the Week – March 12th Edition

WTA – Women’s Tennis Matchups – 2019 BNP Paribas Open

Naomi Osaka vs Belinda Bencic

Naomi Osaka’s a favorite, but she’s not a massive favorite. You’d think the Australian Open Champion would offer odds of less than -200. She doesn’t. Instead, Belinda Bencic is only a +160 dog.

At those odds, Bencic’s the play. She beat Alison Van Uytvanck 6-4, 6-1 before taking down Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-4, 6-2. Bencic should give Naomi all she can handle on Tuesday night. This match is begging us to back the underdog.

Tennis Betting Pick: Belinda Bencic

Aryna Sabalenka vs Angelique Kerber

Angelique Kerber shows up as an underdog versus Aryna Sabalenka. Makes sense when you think about it because while Kerber is ranked #8, Sabalenka isn’t far behind at #9. Angelique beat Yulia Putintseva 6-0, 6-2. However, she struggled with Natalia Vikhlyantseva, only beating that rival 3-6, 6-1, 6-3.

Sabalenka struggled in round 2 against Ajla Tomljanovic, but in round 3 versus ranked Lesia Tsurenko, she played well enough to take it in straight sets: 6-2, 7-5. Sabalenka should play well enough to move on. She’ll beat Kerber on Tuesday night.

Tennis Betting Pick: Aryna Sabalenka

ATP – Men’s Tennis Matchups – 2019 BNP Paribas Open

Ivo Karlovic vs Dominic Thiem

Karlovic is a massive underdog against Dominic Thiem. The 40-year-old Croatian player already beat a ranked player, Borna Coric, at the BNP Paribas Open. He took down Coric 6-4, 7-6 (7-2). He followed that up with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) win over Prajnesh Gunneswaran.

Thiem’s looked like a contender for the trophy, though. He hasn’t lost a set yet at the BNP Paribas Open, beating Jordan Thompson 6-4, 7-5, and taking down Gilles Simon 6-3, 6-1. Thiem gets the nod.

Tennis Betting Pick: Dominic Thiem

Jan-Lennard Struff vs Milos Raonic

Raonic is favored, but Struff might be worth a look to upset Raonic on Wednesday. Milos struggled to beat Sam Querrey 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 before also struggling to beat Marcos Giron 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Jan-Lennard easily handled Alexander Zverev 6-3, 6-1 in round 3. Struff has a major chance to get noticed on Wednesday. Unless Milos returns to his best form, he could be looking at an early exit at the BNP Paribas Open. Jan_Lennard takes this.

Tennis Betting Pick: Jan-Lennard Struff
