Saturday’s Eastern Conference Game 6 was quite the show for NBA fans. The Toronto Raptors raised the Eastern Conference trophy on Saturday night after beating the Milwaukee Bucks 100-94 in a nail-biting game.
Toronto’s leading player and official ‘hype-man’ Kawhi Leonard put up 27 points and 17 rebounds during Game 6. Although, Leonard wasn’t the only MVP during Game 6.
Kyle Lowry played the entire game with a sprained thumb, citing an ever-present pain while playing. Despite the injury, Lowry contributed to Toronto’s victory with 17 points and eight assists.
Throughout the series, the viewership between the Bucks and Raptors have been breaking broadcasting records across Canada. While viewership numbers aren’t available for the Raptor’s historic Game 6 victory yet, millions have been tuning in for previous playoff games, specifically the Raptors versus 76ers series.
According to the TheScore.com, the NBA has reported “an average of 2.2 million Canadians” watched Game 7 between the Raptors and 76ers. It’s estimated that Canadian viewership for the second round of the Raptors’ playoff had increased by 73% from 2018. Finally, an estimated 5.8 million Canadians saw a portion of the Raptors-76ers Game 7, 14% of Canada’s population.
