One piece of news that we are all waiting to hear is the injury status of Stephen Thompson. He came away with a big win over Geoff Neal on Saturday night, but he may have paid a price. Thompson said after the fight that he may have suffered a muscle tear in his knee, but he also took the time to call out Jorge Masvidal as he goes searching for his next fight. We are going to need to wait and see the extend of the knee injury before we can really have any idea about what might be next for Thompson.

When a fighter wins, the path ahead becomes a good deal clearer, but what happens after a loss? For Marlon Moraes, the future does not look as bright as it once did. He was knocked out by Rob Font in the co-main event on Saturday night and is now on a run of back to back KO losses The other one came in Abu Dhabi, when Cory Sandgahen put Moraes down. There is a chance that Moraes drops out of the top 5 in the Bantamweight division, so this could prove to be a long road back to a title shot.

T.J Dillashaw, who refers to himself as the real champion of the Bantamweight division, will be returning to the UFC on Jan. 18, 2021 after serving a 2-year suspension for a failed drug test. There are a lot of fighters staking their claim to be the first to face Dillashaw upon his return. After suffering back to back losses, although still fighting well, against very good opponents, Jose Aldo bounced back with a comfortable win over Marlon Vera. As soon as the fight ended, Aldo called for a match against Dillashaw, claiming that Dana White would make it happen.

It has been a long time since Anthony Pettis has won consecutive fights, but with his victory over Alex Morono on Saturday, he now has a 2-fight win streak for the first time since 2014. Since losing the title back in 2015, Pettis has gone just 6-7, yet he still remains a very popular fighter. He claimed that getting his drinking under control helped him become more consistent over his past couple of fights. Pettis is now looking at moving to Lightweight, but with his win being the last fight on his current UFC contract, the feeling now is that he might make the move to Bellator, where hos brother Sergio currently fights.
