UFC 227 Odds, Info & Expert Betting Predictions

Written by on August 2, 2018

The Staples Center in Los Angeles will serve as host for the UFC 227 event, and the headliner will feature what promises to be a great rematch between TJ Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt. Before we get to the main event, though, MMA betting enthusiasts will be glad to know that there are 4 other main card bouts to enjoy, including another title fight before the headliner. Let’s take a quick look at all the main card bouts and their respective UFC 227 Odds while making some predictions.

UFC 227 Odds, Info & Expert Betting Predictions

  • When: August 4, 2018
  • Where: Los Angeles. Staples Center
  • TV: UFC Network
  • Live Stream: UFC Fight Pass

Thiago Santos vs Kevin Holland

  • UFC 227 Odds: Santos -370 / Holland +295
We were not initially expecting this bout to be on the card, but it was added late and is an exciting addition, to be sure. Santos has amassed 17 wins in his career, 9 of which have come via the KO, but he is a little different in that he very often delivers those KO’s with his feet as opposed to his hands. Santos will be facing a very capable fighter in Kevin Holland, who come in with a career mark of 13-3. This is a fighter who also has some power, but I think this match-up will prove to be a little too much for him.

Polyana Viana vs JJ Aldrich

  • UFC 227 Odds: Viana -210 / Aldrich +175
The ladies will be next into the Octagon, with Polyana Viana coming into this bout on a rich vein of form. She has won each of her last 6 fights, taking her career record to 10-1. Given that 6 of those victories have come via submission, it is clear that she will be looking to take this fight to the mat. That is going to be tough to do against Aldrich, a fighter who is fast and mobile. She can land strikes that will keep Viana away but only for so long. Look for Viana to get the win via submission.

Cub Swanson vs Renato Moicano

  • UFC 227 Odds: Swanson +300 / Moicano -380
Forget about the titles fights still to come, as this battle could be one that takes the fight of the night. Swanson is in a bit of a swoon at the moment, losing each of his last two fights to take his career mark to 25-8. Moicano made a great start to his life as a pro fighter winning 11 and drawing 1 of his first 12 fights, but he has split his last two as the competition starts to get a little tougher. Swanson may be in as the underdog here, but I have him winning this one.

Demetrious Johnson vs Henry Cejudo (+390)

  • UFC 227 Odds: Johnson -530 / Cejudo +390
The penultimate fight to the headline event features a man that is an absolute beast in the flyweight division. You need to go back roughly 7 years to find the last time that Demetrious Johnson (27-2-1) lost a fight. Demetrious Johnson is a huge favorite at the UFC 227 Odds. In the time since that defeat, he has put together 13 straight victories. The next man up for Johnson will be Henry Cejudo, who enters the Octagon with a 12-2 career mark. I have a feeling that this one might go the distance, and I think it will be Johnson taking his streak to 14.

TJ Dillashaw vs Cody Garbrandt

  • UFC 227 Odds: Dillashaw -110 / Garbrandt -110
Dillashaw comes in as the reigning Bantamweight Title holder, a belt that he took from Garbrandt when he knocked him out early at UFC 2017 back in November. Dillashaw is now sitting at 16-3 for his career, while Garbrandt still only has that one blemish on his 11-1 mark. The hope is that this one goes a little longer than their last meeting, which I believe it will. I like Garbrandt to get his belt back, potentially setting up a future tiebreaker.

Preliminary Card

  • Pedro Munhoz vs Brett Johns
  • Ricky Simon vs Montel Jackson
  • Ricardo Ramos vs Kyung Ho Kang
  • Matt Sayles vs Sheymon Moraes

Early Preliminary Card

  • Jose Torres vs Alex Perez
  • Danielle Taylor vs Zhang Weili
  • Marlon Vera vs Wuliji Buren
