UFC 238 Cejudo vs Moraes Odds, Predictions & Picks

Written by on June 7, 2019

After spending time in Stockholm, Sweden last weekend, the UFC wagon rolls back into the US this coming Saturday for UFC 238 at the United Center in Chicago. All told, we will have 5 bouts on a main card that looks to be, on paper at least, one of the best that we have seen in quite some time. It will be the Cejudo/Moraes bout that serves as the headliner here, but there really isn’t a bad bout on this main card. Let’s dig a little deeper into all 5 fights to see if we can come up with some winning picks for you guys.

UFC 238 Cejudo vs Moraes Odds, Predictions & Picks

Event Info

  • When: June 8th, 2019. 9pm.
  • Where: United Center, Chicago, Illinois
  • TV: PPV
  • Live Stream: UFC Fight Pass

Tai Tuivasa Vs Blagoy Ivanov

It will be the big men who step into the Octagon first, as the main card gets rolling with a tasty looking Heavyweight battle. Both of these fighters are still somewhat new to the world of the UFC, with Ivanov coming into this one with a 1-1 record in the UFC after winning his last time out. He will be up against Tuivasa, who is 3-1 under the UFC banner, but who will be looking to bounce back after losing his last fight. Tuivasa is the favorite here and he has won all 3 fights that he started with that label. It’s a coin flip here, but I think Tuivasa edges it.

Jimmie Rivera Vs Petr Yan

Next up is a Bantamweight bout featuring a pair of fighters heading in different directions at the moment. Petr Yan, who is a pretty big favorite here, comes int this one unbeaten in his time in the UFC, winning all 4 of his fights. He has been the favorite in each of those bouts, so certainly a very good bet. On the flipside, we have Rivera, a fighter with a 6-3 record under the UFC banner, but also one that has lost 2 of his last 3 fights. The one time he was in as the underdog, he won, but I don’t see that outcome here. I like Yan to get the job done early.

Tony Ferguson Vs Donald Cerrone

This is the bout where things really start to heat up, as we are looking at a Lightweight bout between two of the best fighters in that class. Ferguson comes in at 12-1 in his UFC career and is unbeaten in his last 5 bouts, beating some big-name fighters in the process. He will be the slight favorite against The Cowboy, who has proven that he can beat anyone on any given night. He is 23-8 overall and has 4 wins in his last 5 fights, including 3 straight victories. Call it a hunch, but I think Cerrone wins this one.

Valentina Shevchenko Vs Jessica Eye

The penultimate fight on the main card is a Flyweight Title Bout that will see Shevchenko coming in to defend her title. She has been a force in the UFC, going 5-2 and picking up 4 wind in her last 5 fights, including back to back victories. Eye comes in as a serious underdog, and while she is just 3-5 overall in the UFC, she is on a 3-fight winning streak ahead of this one. Still, Eye looks to be seriously out of her depth here, which is why I think the champ wraps this fight up quickly.

Henry Cejudo Vs Marlon Moraes

A great night of MMA action will come to a close with a Bantamweight Title bout, where the defending champion, Henry Cejudo, will take on Marlon Moraes in what looks to be a very evenly matched fight. Cejudo is an impressive 8-2 under the UFC banner and comes into this one having won 4 in a row. He will be up against a great fighter in Moraes, who has also managed to win each of his last 4 fights against very solid competition. This is one that could very well go the distance, after which I believe we will be crowning a new champion. Moraes to win by UD.
