UFC 311: Makhachev vs Tsarukyan 2 Betting Odds, Picks and Predictions

We have another big fight weekend coming our way this Saturday, with the UFC set to deliver another major event.

The main card is a beauty, with a pair of title fights sitting at the top of the card. As of now, all the fighters on the main card are set and ready to go, but the same cannot be said for the intended location of the UFC 311 event.

Odds UFC 311: Makhachev vs Tsarukyan 2 Analysis

As most of you probably already know, there are wildfires raging in Los Angeles, which has caused other sporting events to change location.

Currently, the event is still set to take place at the Intuit Dome at 6 PM EST on Saturday night, but Dana White has said that if things get worse in the city, UFC 311 will be moved to Las Vegas, so keep an eye on that.

With all of that said, let’s take a closer look at the 5 fights on the main card, with odds and predictions for each.

Kevin Holland -110 vs Reinier de Ridder -115

UFC Record: Holland 26-12 / Ridder 18-2
Rankings: Holland #26 / Ridder #33

We get the main card started with a Middleweight bout between a pair of fighters who have been a little up and down of late. The good news for fight fans is that these two guys seem to be very evenly matched, so we might well be in for a treat. Holland comes into this one with a 26-12 record, but he has had issues in recent fights, losing 3 of his last 5 bouts. Half of his wins have come via KO, with a mere 15% of his bouts going the distance.

De Ridder is 18-2 overall, with both of his losses come into his last 5 fights. Those losses came back-to-back, but de Ridder has done a good job of breaking out of that slump and comes into this one on a modest 2-fight win streak. 13 of his wins have come via submission, with just 2 fights going the distance.

Given the stats for both fighters, I would be surprised to see this one go all the way, so I am taking de Ridder to win via submission.

Beneil Dariush +138 vs Renato Moicano -178

UFC Record: Dariush 22-6-1 / Moicano 20-5-1
Rankings: Dariush #9 / Moicano #8

It will be a pair of very good Lightweight fighters stepping into the octagon for the next bout, with these guys coming into this one in very differing runs of form. Dariush has been having a tough time in recent bouts, losing back-to-back fights ahead of this one, dropping his overall record to 22-6-1 in the process. Both of his recent losses have come via TKO, but when he takes a fight all the way, he has won 9 straight times.

Things have been going a lot better for Moicano, who comes into this bout having won each of his last 4 fights. Those wins have taken his overall record to 20-5-1 and are helping Moicano move up the rankings. He is almost certainly going to like his chances against a fighter who is having a tough time right now. The majority of his wins come via submission, so look for him to go to the ground game.

I think the recent form of both fighters tells us how this thing might go, so I am all over Moicano to get the win.

Jiri Prochazka +100 vs Jamahal Hill -128

UFC Record: Prochazka 30-5-1 / Hill 12-2
Rankings: Prochazka #3 / Hill #4

We have one more bout before we get to the title fights, with this Light Heavyweight matchup, one that is sure to be a battle. Both fighters are coming into this one on the heels of a loss, so you can bet that both will be looking to turn things around. Prochazka is 30-5-1 overall, but he has struggled of late, losing 2 of his last 3 fights. Most of his success has come fighting for Rizin, while his UFC record is currently at 4-2. Only one of his fights has gone the distance.

vHill was on a good run of form heading into his last bout, winning 4 in a row before finally taking the loss. With that defeat, Hill is now sitting at 6-2 in his time with the UFC, so it is easy to see why he is the favorite for this one. 9 of his fights have finished via KO, while 5 have gone the distance.

I actually think we might be in for a slight upset here, as I like Prochazka to get the win in what could be a brawl.

Merab Dvalishvili +255 vs Umar Nurmagomedov -350

Co-Main Event: UFC Bantamweight Championship
UFC Record: Dvalishvili 18-4 / Nurmagomedov 18-0
Rankings: Dvalishvili #1 / Nurmagomedov #2

The penultimate fight of the evening serves as the co-main event and is the first of two title bouts on the main card. This one is for the Bantamweight title, and we have a pair of very good fighters stepping into the octagon. Dvalishvili is 18-4 overall, winning 4 in a row and 8 of his last 9. He grabbed the belt with a win over Seam O’Malley last time out and has a tough first defense in this one.

Nurmagomedov has been an absolute beast during his time as a pro, winning all 18 of his bouts to this point. That includes 6 straight wins during his time with the UFC. In terms of fight length, Nurmagomedov has gone right down the middle, finishing 9 bouts inside the distance, while going all the way in the other 9.

I think we will see this one go the distance, and I believe we will see the belt change hands, as I have Nurmagomedov getting the decision.

Islam Makhachev -400 vs Arman Tsarukyan +285

Main Event: UFC Lightweight Championship
UFC Record: Makhachev 26-1 / Tsarukyan 22-3
Rankings: Makhachev #1 / Tsarukyan #3

We close the night out with another title fight, with Makhachev looking to defend his Lightweight belt against a fighter he has faced before, although some time has passed since that last meeting. Makhachev is 26-1 (15-1 with the UFC) and comes into this one on a 14-fight win streak. He took the belt from Charles Oliviera and has gone on to defend his title 3 times. Most of his wins (12) have come via submission.

As mentioned earlier, this will be the second time that Tsarukyan has faced the champ, although their earlier meeting came back in 2019, with Tsarukyan losing by decision. Since that loss, he has gone 9-1, working his way up the ranks to earn himself a title shot. Almost half of his wins have come by KO, so he does have the ability to land a winning shot.

Just like the first meeting, I think this one goes all the way, with the champions retaining his belt when all is said and done.
