UFC Fight Night: Blaydes Vs Lewis Expert Analysis

Written by on February 19, 2021

Another weekend is upon us, which means that it’s time to step inside the octagon once more. This weekend, it’s back to Sin City for UFC Vegas 19, which you can catch on ESPN+ if you fancy watching along while you wager. It’s a busy main card, with no less than 6 fights set to go, including what looks to be a pair of really good matchups sitting as the co-main events. There is a lot of ground to cover here, so let’s get right to the previews and predictions for the main card along with their UFC odds.

UFC Fight Night: Blaydes Vs Lewis | MMA Betting

Andrei Arlovski (+200) Vs Tom Aspinall (-255)

It is the big men who are up first on the main card for a heavyweight bout that features a fighter on a great run of form. That man would be Tom Aspinall, who has won 6 fights in a row. Perhaps more impressive is the fact that each of those wins came in the opening round. Arlovski is working his way back to form after a 4-fight losing skid and has now win 2 in a row. I think that comes to an end this weekend, as I like Aspinall by KO.

Nassourdine Imamov (-105) Vs Phil Hawes (-125)

While the opening fight of the night is one that might come to an early end, this Middleweight bout looks to be a good deal more evenly matched. Both men come into this fight with the same 9-2 record, with Imamov on a 6-fight win streak. Hawes had won 5 in a row, but this is just his second fight under the UFC banner. Hawes may have less experience at this level, but I still think he gets the win on Saturday night.

Aleksei Oleinik (+160) Vs Chris Daukaus (-200)

Next up is another battle of the bruisers, with a pair of heavyweights set to square off. At 43 years of age, the vastly experienced Oleinik is at the tail end of this career, which his results seem to prove, as he has now lost 4 of his last 6 fights. Daukaus, meanwhile, is still relatively new, posting a 10-3 record to this point in his career. Daukaus will be looking to end this one quickly, but if the wily veteran can take it the distance, we might see an upset.

Darrick Minner (+155) Vs Charles Rosa (-190)

A good looking Featherweight bout is next and it features a pair of fighters trying to build some momentum after a period of inconsistency. Minner is 25-11 in his career, but also just 4-3 in his last 7. We rarely see his fights go the distance, with only 3 of his pro fights going all the way. Rosa has failed to really get going in the UFC, with his 8 fights to this point split right down the middle at 4-4. I think Rosa will get the win via submission.

Ketlen Vieira (-270) Vs Yana Kunitskaya (+210)

The co-main event of the night sees the ladies hit the octagon for a Bantamweight bout that should be fun to watch. Vieira took the first loss of her career recently, but she bounced back with a win to take her pro career mark to 11-1. Kunitskaya has been a little less consistent, going 13-5, but she is a game fighter who had made a habit of going the distance, which is what I think happens here. I like Vieira to get the nod.

Curtis Blaydes (-435) Vs Derrick Lewis (+335)

We can probably expect some fireworks in the headline event, as both of these Heavyweights have a history of flashing some serious power. Blaydes is on a 4-fight win streak and is in as a pretty heavy favorite here as he looks to continue moving up the rankings. He may be a favorite, but it is not going to be easy against Lewis, who is also on a nice run, winning 3 in a row. I don’t see this one going the distance, so I am taking Blaydes by KO.
