UFC Fight Night: Brunson Vs Shahbazyan Odds & Analysis

Written by on July 30, 2020

The upcoming UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas is not what we had expected, as the Holm/Aldana fight, which was supposed to be the headliner, ended up getting cancelled. We have a decent replacement in place, though, with Derek Brunson and Edmen Shahbayzan set to square off in the final fight of the night this coming Saturday. This one was put together on rather short notice, so instead of the usual 5 rounds that we see in a UFC headline event, this one will be just 3 rounds. While this bout is shorter than we are used to, there are still a few prop bets that you can take advantage of if you feel you know how this one might play out. Let’s take a closer look at some of the prop bets and the UFC odds that go with them so can wager on their MMA odds.

UFC Fight Night: Brunson Vs Shahbazyan Props

Derek Brunson to Win

Brunson comes into this fight as the underdog, but he is a veteran UFC player that you cannot totally write off. If you think that he can come in and pull off the upset, then you have a few ways in which you can wager rather than just taking him to win straight up. The first option is to take Brunson to win in the 1st round, which you can do at odds of +1000. To this point in his career, Brunson has had 16 fights in the UFC, 11 of which have ended in the opening round. He won 7 of those fights, so this is not a ridiculous wager at all. If you like him to win in the 2nd round, you are looking at odds of +1400. In his entire 27 fight career, where he is 20-7, Brunson has never had a fight end in the second round. That is a rather weird stat, but it’s also one that might well make you want to steer clear of this bet. Finally, we have Brunson winning in the 3rd round at odds of +2500. Over the course of his 16-fight UFC career, he has logged 1 win in the 3rd round, with that one actually coming in his first fight under the UFC banner.

Edmen Shahbazyan to Win

With Shahbazyan in as a very clear favorite here, it’s not surprising that his prop odds are not quite as generous as Brunsons’s. The 22-year old comes into this fight at 11-0 and had only seen one of those bouts go beyond the 1st round. With that in mind, it is perhaps no real surprise that he is at +150 to get the job done in the opening round. As we already mentioned, 1st round finishes have been his thing, and like Brunson, he has never seen a single fight end in the 2nd round. If you like him to break that mold and end this thing in Round 2, you can get that at odds of +370. The final prop bet for Shahbayzan to win is in the 3rd and final round, which you can get at odds of +800. Again, he has never had a fight stopped in the 3rd round.

Fight to Go the Distance

The odds for either of these fighters winning by points are quite close, with Brunson in at +500, while Shabayzan is in at +600. If you think the fight goes the distance, select YES at +250, whole choosing NO gets you odds of -325.
