After a run of afternoon events in the UFC, we are back to the nighttime action this weekend for what looks to be an amazing main card. Starting at 10 PM EST, UFC 268 is delivering 5 fights on the main card, 2 of which are title bouts. It is, as you would expect, an absolutely loaded main card and an event that should pretty much be labeled as must watch TV. Our goal here is to break down each of the 5 fights by delivering the current odds, as well as some predictions that might help you pocket some extra cash on Saturday night. Let’s jump right in to see if we can pick some winners for UFC 268: Usman Vs Covington 2 so you can bet against the UFC odds.
UFC 268: Usman Vs Covington 2 Odds & Analysis | MMA Betting Preview
Frankie Edgar (+140) Vs Marlon Vera (-170)
We get the main card rolling with a Bantamweight bout featuring a pair of big-name fighters looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday night. Edgar has just 1 win in his last 4 fights, which has seen his overall record drop to 24-9-1. It has been a similar type of story for Vera, who has gone 2-2 over his last4 bouts, although he does come into this one on the heels of a win last time out. It’s hard to break out of a losing slump, which is why I have Vera by decision.
Shane Burgos (-195) Vs Billy Quarantillo (+160)
Next up, we have a pair of Featherweights stepping into the octagon, with one of them trying to halt a losing skid. That would be Burgos, who has lost back-to-back fights ahead of this bout to see his record fall to 13-3 and his ranking slip outside the top 10. Quarantillo comes in with a 16-3 career mark and a run that has seen him win 4 of his last 5. Burgos needs a bounce back win in a big way and I think he gets it here, although he may need to go the distance.
Justin Gaethje (-210) Vs Michael Chandler (+170)
Before we get to the title fights, we have a Lightweight bout featuring a pair of fighters looking to bounce back from a loss. It has been over a year since Gaethje lost to Khabib in a title fight, bringing a 4-fight winning streak to an end. Chandler last stepped into the octagon at UFC 262, where he lost to Charles Oliveira, so both men looking to get back to winning ways. He may be a little rusty, but I still think Gaethje comes away with the KO win.
Rose Namajunas (-110) Vs Weili Zhang (-120)
They don’t come more evenly matched than this Strawweight title bout, which is actually a rematch. It was Namajunas who took the belt with a stunning KO when they met back in April, but at 10-4, Namajunas has proven to be beatable. It will be interesting to see how Zhang bounces back after that stunning defeat, a loss that ended her 21-fight winning streak. A fight that is almost too close to call, but I am sticking with the champ here.
Kamaru Usman (-300) Vs Colby Covington (+240)
We close out the night with another title fight and another rematch, with Usman looking to defend his Welterweight title for the 5th time. This will be the second time that he has had Covington as a challenger, with the first fight going into the 5th round before Usman wore his opponent down. Covington bounced back with a win over Tyron Woodley, but I think he is up against it here. I think Usman keeps the belt with a KO win.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
