We are still a couple of weeks away from UFC 284, which is set for February 11, but it’s never too early to look ahead a little. The main card has 5 fights on it, which includes a pair of title fights in as the headliners. As we get closer to this event, we will have previews and predictions for each fight, but for this piece, we are simply going to look at the current UFC Betting Odds. It is worth noting that these odds might well change over the course of the next couple of weeks, so if any of the current odds are better than you expected, you might want to get your wagers in early. With all of that in mind, let’s get to the odds.
Early MMA Betting Rundown of the Main Fights for UFC 284: Makhachev vs Volkanovski
Randy Brown (+243) Vs Jack Della Maddalena (-333)
The first fight on the main card is a Welterweight bout, with both of these fighters coming into this one in great form. Brown is sitting at 16-4 overall and has won each of the last 4 fights ahead of this one. Maddalena is an impressive 13-2 overall and has won 13 in a row after losing his first 2 fights as a pro. Given that run, it is probably no surprise that Della Maddalena is in as the favorite here.
Jimmy Crute (-220) Vs Alonzo Menifield (+185)
This Light Heavyweight bout is one where one of these fighters really needs a win. That would be Crute, who has lost 2 in a row and 3 of his last 5 to fall to 12-3 overall. These fighters actually have very similar records, with Menifield in at 13-3, but he has won 4 of his last 5 and is in much better form than Crute. Despite the current form, it is Crute who is in as the favorite for this one.
Justin Tafa (-151) Vs Parker Porter (+119)
Before we get to the big fights of the night, we have a Heavyweight bout that will almost certainly not go the distance. Tafa has been up and down in his time as a pro, posting a 5-3 record. Porter is coming into this one on the heels of a loss that saw him drop to 13-7 overall, and while he does have the better record of the two fighters, he comes into this one as a slight underdog.
Yair Rodriguez (-166) Vs Josh Emmett (+129)
This bout, which serves as the co-main event of the evening, is for the Interim Featherweight Championship. Rodriguez has not fought a lot over the past few years, but he is coming into this one with a 9-2 record under the UFC banner. On the flipside, you have Emmett coming in on a great run of form after winning each of his last 5 fights. He is the underdog here, but this one could go either way.
Islam Makhachev (-157) Vs Alexander Volkanovski (+262)
When you have a pair of fighters with a combined record of 48-2 squaring off, you know you are in for a great battle. Makhachev comes in as the defending Lightweight champion and a run that has seen him win 11 in a row. Volkanovski has a very similar record, but it should be noted that he is still inbeaten in UFC action at 12-0. Despite that, he comes into this fight as the underdog.
