2024 Washington vs Michigan Odds and Pick for CFP College Football National Championship

The final College Football game of the season will take place Monday Night from NRG Stadium in Houston Texas. The Washington Huskies will take on the Michigan Wolverines. This game features two unbeaten teams, with the winner taking all for the national title.

Washington is 14-0 after running the table in the regular season, and then beating Oregon in the Pac-12 title game. The Huskies then beat Texas in a thriller on New Years Night to advance to the title game.

For Michigan, they are also 14-0. The Wolverines beat up the Big Ten all season long, and then went to Indianapolis and shut-out the Iowa Hawkeyes. Michigan trailed late in the game on New Years Day, but came from behind and beat Alabama in overtime.

The Michigan Wolverines are the favorites in the betting lines in college football for this game as they are listed at -4.5 and a total set at 56.5 points.

Washington Huskies Led by Penix

Michael Penix Jr did not win the 2023 Heisman. That went to LSU’s quarterback Jayden Daniels. But, regardless, many feel Penix was the top player in all of College Football this season. It’s hard to argue, and his numbers back it up. The Washington signal caller has thrown for nearly 4,700 yards on the season. He also has 35 touchdowns, with 9 interceptions thrown.

Rome Odunze is going to be an elite receiver in the National Football League. But, before he does that, he is looking to capture a national title. The receiver has over 1,500 receiving yards on the season, with 13 touchdowns. Ja’Lynn Polk has been great as well, with 65 receptions, 1,122 yards and 9 touchdowns.

WHen the Huskies need yards on the ground, they turn to Dillon Johnson. Johnson and Penix combined for 254 of the Huskies 391 carries this season. Johnson heads into this game 38 yards shy of 1,200 on the ground, with 16 touchdowns. Penix Jr has three rushing touchdowns for Washington as well.

Corum a Problem for the Wolverines

Blake Corum has been a major problem for the Michigan Wolverines all season. The running back continues to dominate opponents. The strong back has rushed 237 times for nearly 1,120 yards and 25 touchdowns. Donovan Edwards is a strong back up, who also got over 100 carries on the season.

J.J. McCarthy is in the title game after falling a game short a season ago. McCarthy is 149 yards shy of 3,000 on the season. The signal caller has 22 touchdowns thrown and 4 interceptions, while being sacked just 18 times on the season.  Roman Wilson is the top threat in the passing game, with 45 receptions, 735 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Michigan comes into this game with the best statistical defense in all of College Football. The Wolverines in 14 games have allowed just 9.5 points per game. Michigan went the first 8 games of the season, and allowed just 10 points just once.

National Title Betting Pick

Our final championship picks for this game are going to side with the underdog. We like Kalen DeBoer and his Washington Huskies. The Huskies have an elite quarterback and some big time receivers for him to throw to. His offensive line gives him a chance to make the throws, and when push comes to shove, they can run the football.

Michigan certainly has what it takes to win this game too, and Blake Corum is going to be hard to slow down. The defense of Michigan is one of the best in the nation. But, when we make our pick, we are going to take offense over defense. Washington wins this game by a point. The Huskies top the Wolverines 28-27 in the National Title game on Monday!
