The weekend is almost upon us, and we have a ton of NBA action coming our way over the next few days. While we are still waiting for the All-Star Game, which is a little over a week away, we are at the critical stage of the season, when the race for playoff spots really begins to heat up. There are a pair of different battles going on her, with teams vying to be in the top 6, while those below the play-in line are simply looking to get at chance at playing beyond the end of the regular season. With all of that in mind, the majority of the games on the schedule have some sort of playoff implications. Let’s turn our attention to NBA betting Friday night and the games that look to be the biggest and best.
Top Week 17 Betting Matchups and Picks for February 10th
Phoenix Suns at Indiana Pacers
When: Friday
Where: Bankers Life Fieldhouse
Time: 7:00 PM EST
TV: NBA TV
Ordinarily, I probably wouldn’t have added this as a game to watch and wager on, but if the sources are correct, then the Suns might look a good deal different after delivering a blockbuster trade that saw them land Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets, with Jae Crowder and a couple of other players going in the opposite direction. The Suns are looking to push on and continue a 3-game win streak that has them moving up the Western Conference and into the #5 seed. How high they can go remains to be seen, but you would have to like their chances against an Indiana Pacers team that is a game out of the play-in zone. Will we see Durant suit up for this one? We will have to wait and see.
Minnesota Timberwolves at Memphis Grizzlies
When: Friday
Where: FedEx Forum
Time: 8:00 PM EST
TV: NBA TV
This is a big matchup in the Western Conference, with the Memphis Grizzlies looking to get back into form and back into the race for the #1 seed. They were right there, and while they are still in the #2 seed, the Grizzlies are on a run that has seen them win just twice in their last 10 games. That run has left them 4 ½ games back of the Denver Nuggets in the top spot, so some work to be done in the coming weeks. The Timberwolves are currently down in the play-in zone as the #8 seed, but it’s tight down there and they are just a game out of the top 6. They are coming off a win and have gone 6-4 in their last 10, so they might be able to take advantage of the slumping Grizzlies.
Milwaukee Bucks at LA Clippers
When: Friday
Where: Crypto.com Arena
Time: 10:30 PM EST
TV: NBA TV
A non-conference game, but its one that has big playoff implications for both teams. We have a bit of a logjam going on in the Western Conference, with the #4 seed through the #8 seed separated by just 2 ½ games. The Clippers are clinging to the #6 seed right now, and while they lost their last game, they have still gone 7-3 over their last 10 games. That is a good run of form, but it does still pale in comparison to what the Milwaukee Bucks are doing right now, as they have currently won 8 in a row to move withing a game and a half of the top seed in the Eastern Conference. This should be an entertaining one to watch.
