The Stampeders didn’t get off to the start they wanted at home. Calgary’s defense was torched by BC. The Stampeders likely won’t have to worry about that this week.

Ottawa quarterback Nick Arbuckle had a disastrous start last week. Arbuckle threw three interceptions and only passed for 176 yards in a loss to Montreal. The Redblacks’ defense, however, played well and only allowed 19 points.

Calgary should be able to grab its first win of the season by limiting the Redblacks’ sluggish offense. The Stampeders will win this one by at least a touchdown.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Saskatchewan Roughriders

The Roughriders were able to get veteran quarterback Trevor Harris’ feet wet during Week 11.

Saskatchewan having a hard time scoring against Edmonton was a bit worrying due to the Elks struggling as a poor team the last few seasons. However, Saskatechewan’s defense was able to hold down the Elks, other than one big play they allowed.

Winnipeg rolled over Hamilton in Week 1. The Blue Bombers’ offense was efficient, but the team did let up in the second half. The Roughriders won’t win this one, but they will cover the spread.

Edmonton Elks at BC Lions

The Lions have a tremendous passing attack led by quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. BC was able to score three touchdowns last week but only put up 25 points despite picking up over 400 yards of offense. Now, the Lions will be playing against a step down in competition.

The Elks’ offense struggled last week, turning the ball over twice. Edmonton also was unable to score effectively. During a fourth-and-goal in Week 1, the Elks were unable to score from the 1-yard line, and it cost them a win against the Roughriders. BC should roll in this one.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Toronto Argonauts

Defending Grey Cup champions Toronto is ready to begin its title defense against a Hamilton side that lost its season opener. Chad Kelly started for the Argonauts in the championship game and passed for 297 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions last season.

Former Toronto starter McLeod Bethel-Thompson is now with the Breakers in the USFL, so Kelly will take over full time.

The Tigers-Cats had major issues on defense in Week 1. Hamilton gave up 42 points to Winnipeg last week. The Tiger-Cats also struggled with turnovers.

Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell passed for 200 yards but threw two interceptions. With Kelly still an unproven factor at this level, this is a good spot for Hamilton to grab a road win.
