On Tuesday, October 24th, two encounters of a suspicious package were reported at former President Obama and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s residence.
According to numerous media outlets, the suspicious packages were flagged by Secret Service during routine postal screenings. It is believed that the packages sent to the Obamas and Clinton’s are linked to the suspicious package addressed to billionaire George Soros earlier this week.
Later that day, CNN’s New York headquarters was also targeted with a suspicious package, containing what is believed to be a pipe bomb and an unknown white powder.
Reports of suspicious packages arriving at government official’s residence and offices continued throughout the afternoon. Current targets are known Democratic figures and outspoken Trump critics.
Wednesday’s targets included Maxine Waters, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, John Brennan, and Eric Holder.
However, targets of the ‘MAGA Bomber’ didn’t stop on Wednesday. As of Thursday morning, Robert De Niro and former Vice-President Joe Biden have also been added to the “MAGA Bomber’s” list of targeted individuals.
With the US midterm elections less than three weeks away, US citizens are keeping a close eye on developments, presidential comments, and potential suspects.
President Trump has been criticized for potentially inciting violence on both Twitter and at his campaign rallies by celebrating Representative Greg Gianforte’s 2017 attack on a reporter by saying that “any guy who can do a body slam, he is my type!”
“If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, would you? Seriously, OK? Just knock the hell … I promise you I will pay for the legal fees. I promise, I promise,” he said on Feb. 1, 2016.
