The Atlanta Dream, Washington Mystics and Phoenix Mercury will all be looking to0 take care of business in their respective home matchups this coming week. If you love women’s basketball and the WNBA in particular, then you’re going to enjoy the trio of expert WNBA betting picks that you’re about to get for the coming week.

Top WNBA Betting Picks of the Week – August 5th Edition

Minnesota Lynx (10-11) at Atlanta Dream (5-17)

  • When: Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 7:00 PM ET
  • Where: State Farm Arena, Atlanta, GA

Minnesota is struggling in a big way heading into Tuesday night’s matchup against Atlanta. The Lynx have dropped four straight including their 86-75 road lass at Indiana on Wednesday night. Minnesota has gone an uninspiring 4-6 on the road while averaging 75.8 points per game and allowing 75.3 points per contest defensively.

Atlanta is struggling even more than Minnesota in dropping seven straight games including their 87-75 home loss against Chicago on Saturday. The Dream have gone an uninspiring 4-8 at home and are averaging a league-low 69.5 points per game while allowing 78.1 points per contest defensively.

Prediction: Atlanta might be playing at home in this matchup, but for me, Minnesota is the easy pick to get the outright win despite the fact that these two playoff hopefuls have split two regular season meetings so far this season with the home team winning each time.

Pick: Minnesota 77 Atlanta 71

Indiana Fever (8-15) at Washington Mystics (14-6)

  • When: Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 7:00 PM ET
  • Where: Entertainment and Sports Arena, Washington D.C.

After dropping their previous three games, Indiana has won two straight, including a solid 86-75 win over Minnesota on Sunday. The Fever are just 4-7 on the road while averaging 69.9 points per game and allowing 75.0 points per contest defensively.

Washington had their five-game winning streak snapped in their emphatic 103-82 road loss against Phoenix on Sunday. Still, the Mystics sit in third place in the WNBA standing while averaging a league-high 86.6 points per contest and allowing 78.6 points per game defensively. Washington has a league-best 8-4 mark on the road this season, but the Mystics are a modest 6-3 on their home floor.

Prediction: After getting blown out on Sunday, I have no doubt whatsoever that Elena Delle Donne and the Mystics are going to get the confidence-boosting home win in this one, seeing as how they are statistically better than the Fever on both sides of the ball and have already beaten Indiana once this season, 95-88 in overtime in Indy.

WNBA Betting Pick: Washington 85 Indiana 75

Dallas Wings (6-16) at Phoenix Mercury (10-10)

  • When: Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10:00 PM ET
  • Where: Talking Stick Resort, Phoenix, AZ

Dallas has lost four of five including a hard-fought 75-70 loss against Las Vegas on Saturday. The Wings are in next to last place in the WNBA standings and have gone a winless 0-10 on the road this season while averaging just 69.9 points per game and allowing 78.1 points per contest defensively.

Phoenix is coming off its most impressive outing of the season in routing Washington 103-82 on Sunday behind Brittney Griner’s game-high 26 points and nine rebounds. The Mercury are averaging 75.9 points per game and allowing 74.8 points per contest defensively while owning an impressive 7-2 mark on their home floor.

Prediction: After watching the Mercury blow out Washington on Sunday, I’m thinking this contest will be well in hand for Phoenix by the time halftime rolls around. Dallas is a complete mess and has failed to win a single game on the road this season.

WNBA Betting Pick: Phoenix 94 Dallas 77
