2020 WNBA Odds & Picks – Games Of The Week Highlights

Written by on August 10, 2020

After a few weeks of play in the WNBA, we are finally starting to see some separation between the contenders and those teams who are likely to struggle this season. It is, though, still very early in the season, so perhaps one of the early strugglers will find a way to put things together and get on a run that get them into the playoff conversation, although having that conversation right now is pretty ridiculous. As we do every Monday, it is time to look ahead to the coming schedule in the WNBA this week and pick out some games to watch and wager on. We will cover Tuesday through Friday, so let’s get right to the action so you can wager on their WNBA odds.

WNBA Games of the week – Highlights, Top Picks, Odds

Washington Mystics at Minnesota Lynx – Tuesday

Over the past few years in the WNBA, these two teams have been among the best that the league has to offer. The Mystics are coming off back to back Finals appearance, including winning it last year, while the Lynx have won it all 4 times since 2011. The Mystics are off to a slow start this season, going just 3-4, which is actually good enough for second in the Eastern Conference. Things have gone much better for the Lynx, who are 5-2 in the early going, which includes being a perfect 3-0 at home. I don’t see the Lynx dropping this one in their own building.

Pick: Washington Mystics 78 Minnesota Lynx 84

Phoenix Mercury at Chicago Sky – Wednesday

While Chicago are having it all their way in what looks to be a weak Eastern Conference, the Phoenix Mercury are in a tight battle in the West. Chicago has made a very solid start to the season and are sitting atop the East with a 5-2 record. As mentioned, it’s a tight group in the Western Conference, and while the Mercury have a winning record at 4-3, they are still sitting 5th out of 6 teams. Phoenix beat the Sky 96-86 when they met last week, but I am giving the slight edge to Chicago in their own building this time around.

Pick: Phoenix Mercury 83 Chicago Sky 87

Indiana Fever at New York Liberty – Thursday

The question that needs to be asked in the early part of the season is whether any team in the East can pick themselves up and challenge the Chicago Sky, the only team with a winning record in that conference heading into this week. The Indiana Fever have a shot at getting back to .500 this week, as they will start things out with a 3-4 record. The home team has won 4 of the last 5 meetings in this matchup, but with a 1-6 start to the season, and an 0-4 home record, it’s tough to find any positives for this NY Liberty team.

Pick: New York Liberty 74 Indiana Fever 83

Seattle Storm at Dallas Wings – Friday

You see a matchup between the top team in the West and the team that is last, and you automatically assume a lopsided win for the leaders. The Western Conference is solid in the early going, though, so this is not the slam dunk you might expect. The Seattle Storm are off to a fantastic start at 6-1 this season, going 2-1 on the road. The Wings are at 3-4, but they have been solid at home, going 3-1 in their first 4 games. Seattle has won each of the last 5 against Dallas, so expect more of the same here.

Pick: Seattle Storm 93 Dallas Wings 82
