The NBA season is over for another year, with the Golden State Warriors once again walking away as champions. Atlanta Dream vs. LA Sparks – Tuesday
Both of these teams are off to winning starts to the season, and while the Dream needs to be content with second in the East with a 5-3 record, the Sparks are leading the way at 5-2. There is little to separate these two, as both don’t exactly light up the scoreboard, but both are sound on the defensive side of the court. The Sparks have the best defensive record in the league at the moment and are also a solid 3-1 at home. The Dream seems to relish playing on the road, though, posting a 3-1 record in the early going. The Connecticut Sun are off to a great start this season, tearing up the Eastern Conference with a 7-1 record. There is no real secret to their success, as the stats tell the whole story. They are unbeaten in their own building at 4-0, and they are also the top scorers in the league, averaging 92.6 PPG. The Washington Mystics are in at 5-4, 2 ½ games off the pace being set by the Sun. This is their opportunity to close the gap at the top, but it looks like a bit of an ask, especially since Washington is just 2-2 on the road. I see a comfortable win for the Sun here.
