We are down to the final four in the race for the WNBA Championship, with one of the remaining teams looking to win their third straight title.
We are still in the very early stages of the semis, with both series just 1 game in right now.
My Analysis to Betting the WNBA Semifinals Game 2
Game 2 in both series will go on Tuesday night, but we are going to try and look a little further ahead in our crystal ball to see if we can make some predictions for both series, which are best-of-5.
Of course, the easy thing to do would be simply pick the winner of Game 1 in both series, but we might well see some twists before this is all said and done.
After all, by the time we get to this stage of the proceedings, we are left with 4 very good teams.
With all that said, let’s take a look at both WNBA semi-finals to see how they might play out.

WNBA Semifinals Game 2: NY leads series 1-0
This is an intriguing matchup for a number of reasons, most notably because you have the 2-time defending champions going against the team that finished as the #1 seed in the regular season.
The Aces are going all out to get the three-peat, but they did not look as strong in the regular season as they have in the past couple of years.
They finished 27-13 overall, which was good enough for 4th in the standings, which meant a very tricky Round 1 matchup.
They proved that they are going to be a tough out, though, as they breezed past the Seattle Storm in 2 games.
The New York Liberty came into the playoffs as the prohibitive favorite to win it all after an amazing regular season that saw them post a 32-8 record.
Home court advantage throughout the playoffs is huge for this team, as they were 16-4 in their own building this season, although with the same road record, they are just tough to beat anywhere.
New York won Game 1 by a score of 87-77 and look set to make it to the WNBA Final, especially if they can also nab Game 2.
They beat the Aces in all 3 regular season games, but I think the Aces might win one at home. I am on the Liberty to win the series 3-1 at odds of +280.
^Connecticut Sun +143 vs Minnesota Lynx -185

WNBA Semifinals Game 2: CONN leads series 1-0
This is a series between the #2 and #3 seeds, so it stands to reason that there is very little separating these two teams.
The Sun finished 3rd overall with a record of 28-12, going 14-6 at home and on the road.
They made short work of the Indiana Fever in Round 1, winning in a sweep, and they are a game up in this series after a 73-70 win in Game 1.
Losing the opening game of the series is tough, but tougher still when it comes on home court.
The Lynx are going to need to find a way to bounce back to win Game 2 or this series might be over quickly.
They did win one on the road against the Sun in the regular season, but they lost both in their own building.
Given how close Game 1 was, I think we might be in for a longer series. I am sticking with the Sun to move on, but I think it will take 5 games, which you can get at odds of +470.

2023 WNBA Semifinals Game 2
The opening games of the WNBA semifinals produced one surprising result on Sunday. The New York Liberty, who were 4-0 against the Connecticut Sun this season, put together one of their worst performances.
The Sun grabbed the first game of the series and will make it essential for New York to respond with a win before the series heads north.
The defending champion Las Vegas Aces didn’t struggle much with the Dallas Wings. The Aces are looking to take a 2-0 lead and head to Texas looking to finish out the series.

The Liberty were explicitly assembled with the idea that they would try and bring the franchise their first league title. New York finished the regular season with a 32-8 record and won the Commissioner’s Cup. This Liberty team — that looked like a world-beater in August — landed with a giant thud in the opener of their playoff series.
New York was limited to a season-low 63 points on a season-worst 33.8 percent shooting from the field. Despite leading by three points at halftime, the Liberty collapsed in the second half and lost by 15. New York will need to improve its 3-point shooting. The Liberty only made 8 of their 27 3-point attempts.
Connecticut swarmed Stewart with top defender Alyssa Thomas. Doing that again in Game 2 will be a significant challenge. The over/under is set at 161.5 points. The Liberty is -355 on the moneyline, while the Sun is +280.

The Aces’ campaign to win a second straight WNBA title has been carried by A’ja Wilson, who finished second in the MVP voting behind Stewart. In Game 1, Wilson, who was chosen as the league’s defensive player of the year, blocked four shots and had eight rebounds. Wilson also led Las Vegas by scoring 34 points.
Wilson’s performance was backed up by terrific 3-point shooting from the Aces’ guard. Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young both made five 3-pointers for Las Vegas. The Aces’ offense has been dynamic all season, averaging more than 92.6 points per game.
The Wings struggled on the glass in Game 1. Dallas lost the rebounding battle 36-29. Dallas’ top scorer, Arike Ogunbowale, had a brutal night shooting for the Wings, only making four of 14 attempts. Forward Satou Sabally continued her strong play for Dallas. She made four 3-pointers and led the Wings with 20 points.
Sabally averages 18.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per game in the regular season. Dallas has been the league’s worst 3-point shooting team during the regular season. The Wings only made 31.2 percent of their shots behind the arc.
The Aces are -600 on the moneyline, while the Wings are +440. The over/under has been set at 175.5 points.
