WNBA Semifinals Game 5 Odds: Connecticut Sun at Minnesota Lynx - Expert Analysis

WNBA Semifinals Game 5 Odds: Connecticut Sun at Minnesota Lynx – Expert Analysis

Over the weekend, we saw the Las Vegas Aces bid for a three-peat come to an end with a loss to the New York Liberty.

It was a great run, but their end felt almost inevitable, as the Aces seemed to be off the pace all season long.

My Analysis to Betting the WNBA Semifinals Game 5

What that means is that we will have a new champion this season, with the New York Liberty already looking like the favorite to win it all.

Before we get there, though, there is the business of the other semi-final to attend to.

We have the Connecticut Sun and the Minnesota Lynx vying for the other spot as they head to a deciding Game 5 in their series.

It will be the Lynx with the home court advantage, but anything can happen in a deciding game, so let’s break it all down.

Minnesota is a 3 ½ point home favorite, with the total for this one set at 151 ½.

Connecticut Sun Odds +134

The Sun made things look rather easy in their opening round series, taking out the Indiana Fever in a 2-game sweep, but this has been a much tougher slog from start to finish.

Connecticut got the upper hand by winning Game 1 on the road and earning the split after losing the second game in the series.

They then lost Game 3 at home and found themselves behind and on the brink of elimination in Game 4 before roaring back to get the win.

The Sun have been decent on the road this season, posting a 15-7 record in hostile territory.

Connecticut have also won 2 of 3 on the road in the playoffs, so there is every reason to believe they can spring the mild upset in Game 5.

They have been a little less convincing against the spread in road games, going 12-10, although that is better than their ATS record at home.

Minnesota Lynx Odds -172

The Lynx are going to need to find a way to pick themselves up after blowing a lead that essentially cost them a spot in the WNBA Finals.

The good news is that they get another crack at it on Tuesday night on home court.

That home court advantage may prove to be very beneficial for a team that is 16-4 in their own building this season, but these types of things tend to go out the windows when you are talking about a deciding game to go to the championship.

It tends to come down to which team handles the pressure best. While they have certainly been very tough to beat in their own building, they have not been a great bet against the spread when playing at home, going 13-11 ATS.

They will settle for not covering as long as they get the win.

Connecticut Sun vs Minnesota Lynx Game 5 Prediction

Deciding games are always tough to call, especially when it features a pair of teams with very little separating them.

I am going to go out on a limb and take the Sun to win, but if you want to play it a little safer, maybe just play them to cover.

Connecticut Sun 80, Minnesota Lynx 78
