Venezuela vs. Georgia

Georgia didn’t make life easy on Luka Doncic and Slovenia on Monday. The Georgians led 17-16 after the first quarter before being overwhelmed by the Slovenians’ NBA talent.

Georgia, however, is still in a good position to advance out of Group F with a win over Venezuela.

Georgia will hope to find more balance in its offense on Wednesday. Sandro Mamukelashvili led Georgia with 21 points, while Kakhaber Jintchaadze contributed 12. Venezuela took a surprising loss to Cape Verde during the last game and tumbled to the bottom of the standings.

Venezuela had a seven-point lead entering the fourth quarter before being outscored by 13 points in a six-point loss. Venezuela’s offense had a difficult night, only shooting 38.1 percent from the field in the loss.

While Georgia shouldn’t have to worry about Cape Verde springing an upset of Slovenia, they will want to put the hammer down against Venezuela.

Jordan vs. USA

Team USA has already clinched Group C, winning its first two games in group play by a combined 55 points.

The Americans are so devastatingly effective because they don’t need one player to carry the load. During a 28-point win over Greece Monday, Team USA shot 57.4 percent from the field.

The Americans emptied the bench as well, working 12 players in. Austin Reaves led the team with 15 points, while Anthony Edwards and Jalen Brunson each added 13. Jordan showed some spunk in its loss to New Zealand, forcing the game into overtime.

Jordan still had a hard tie from the 3-point line, only making 25 percent of its attempts. Team USA won’t press the issue in this game, and Jordan could cover what will likely be a lopsided affair.

Serbia vs. South Sudan

South Sudan will try and force a tie atop Group A by upsetting Serbia. South Sudan beat up China by 20 and is plus-15 in points differential thus far.

During the win over China, South Sudan shot 50 percent from the 3-point line. Carlik Jones led South Sudan with 21 points. However, trying to beat Serbia would take a Herculean effort.

Serbia is led by forward Nikola Jovic, who tied with Bogdan Bogdanovic for a team-high 17 points in Serbia’s win over Puerto Rico during its last game. Serbia was efficient offensively during its last time out. Serbia shot 52.2 percent from the field and had 25 assists on 35 makes.
