With just two weeks left in the XFL regular season, two of the league’s four playoff spots have already been clinched. Week 9 will go a long way in determining which teams claim the other two spots, as we could see both of them clinched with a week still to go. Here, we look at this week’s four games in the XFL and what bettors should keep an eye on for those contests.
Then once XFL football odds land, decide on which teams you wish to back to win straight up, cover the spread, or both in Week 9 of the season.

Vegas Vipers vs. Houston Roughnecks
When: Saturday, April 15 at 12:30 pm ET
Where: John O’Quinn Field at TDECU Stadium, Houston, TX
TV / Streaming: ABC/ESPN+
The Vegas Vipers have already been eliminated from playoff contention, while the Houston Roughnecks have already clinched the first playoff spot in the South Division. Vegas has seen a real improvement in its play offensively since going to former Baylor quarterback Jalan McClendon under center. On the road, against a Houston team that is trying to lock in the top seed in the South, McClendon will face his toughest test as the head of the snake for the Vipers.

Orlando Guardians vs. San Antonio Brahmas
When: Saturday, April 15 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Alamodome, San Antonio, TX
TV / Streaming: ESPN2/ESPN+
The Orlando Guardians failed to build on their first win of the season, falling last week to the Arlington Renegades in an underwhelming performance by QB Quinten Dormady. This week, the Guardians face a San Antonio Brahmas team that could feature a familiar face to Orlando in QB Paxton Lynch.
Whether Lynch or Jack Coan gets the start for San Antonio, the Brahmas have the top-scoring defense in the XFL and are favored to get a win to keep themselves alive in the race for the second playoff spot in the South.

Arlington Renegades vs. D.C. Defenders
When: Sunday, April 16 at 12:00 pm ET
Where: Audi Field, Washington, DC
TV / Streaming: ESPN/ESPN+
The heaviest favorite of the week in the XFL is the D.C. Defenders, who host the Arlington Renegades in Week 9. Ironically, the Defenders have had the most potent offense in the XFL this season, as they are averaging just over 30 points per game on the year. Against a Renegades team that has really struggled scoring on offense, the Defenders will be expected to clinch the top seed in the North Division with a win in front of their fans (and their famous beer snake) this weekend.

Seattle Sea Dragons vs. St. Louis BattleHawks
When: Sunday, April 16 at 3:00 pm ET
Where: The Dome, St. Louis, MI
TV / Streaming: ESPN/ESPN+
The biggest game of the XFL Week 9 slate will take place in St. Louis, with the Seattle Sea Dragons facing the St. Louis BattleHawks on Sunday. This game could very well decide which team grabs the second playoff spot in the North Division, as the BattleHawks could lock that spot up with a win here. A Seattle win, meanwhile, would put these teams in a tie at 6-3 going into the final week of the regular season.
This game could be decided by whether or not AJ McCarron is able to play for the BattleHawks, who enter this contest on a three-game winning streak. Nick Tiano helped the BattleHawks win in overtime last week, as he did just enough as McCarron’s replacement due to an injury to the St. Louis starter. But against the top passing team in the XFL in the Sea Dragons, McCarron’s health will be huge in deciding this contest.
