2024 PDC World Championship

Luke Littler and Luke Humphries contested the most recent World Championship final, and the two English stars are challenging to separate at the top of the betting once again. Littler is the narrow favorite at +350, while the reigning champion is a +400 chance.

Michael Van Gerwen will once again rank among the likely contenders, and he will be a popular selection at +450. Gerwyn Price is a +900 chance, while Michael Smith is priced up at +1200 to regain the title he won in 2023.

Littler Ranks Among Leading Contenders

Luke Littler is the latest star to transcend the world of darts, with the 17-year-old enjoying a coming-of-age showing at the previous edition of the PDC World Championship. He was eventually beaten in the final by Humphries, but there is an expectation that it’s only a matter of time before he wins a maiden title.

Littler’s progression on the world stage has continued since reaching the World Championship final, becoming the Bahrain Darts Masters champion earlier this year. His progression has shown no signs of stopping to this stage, and further success looks incredibly likely over the coming years.

Humphries Bidding For Back-to-Back Titles

Luke Humphries finally achieved his lifelong dream when winning the World Darts Championship in 2024, beating Littler in the final. The English star was the pre-tournament favorite after winning a number of events, and despite looking on the verge of elimination on a number of occasions, he ultimately managed to show his character to enjoy progression through the rounds.

Since winning the top prize in darts, Humphries has continued to compete at the highest level, reaching the final of the UK Open, before losing 11-10 against Dimitri Van den Bergh. If he is able to hit his form again later this year, then he remains a very solid contender to win a second straight world title.

Van Gerwen Hard To Dismiss

Michael Van Gerwen will once again rank among the leading contenders in the betting for the World Championship in 2025. The Dutchman is one of the most consistent players in the world, and will be looking for a fourth world title success in early 2025.

Van Gerwen has reached the final on three further occasions, with his most recent showing ending in defeat against Michael Smith in 2023. However, there is little doubt that he is one of the very best players on the planet when he is at his peak level of performance.

PDC World Championship Odds

Michael Van Gerwen is the narrow favorite at the top of the betting, as the Dutchman is currently available at +330. Former world number one Gerwyn Price is priced up at +360, while Michael Smith is the only other player under double-digit odds at +480.

Nathan Aspinall is among the value selections in the betting at +1700, while Peter Wright is slightly bigger at +1750. Luke Humphries is available at +1800, with Jonny Clayton priced up at +1850. Previous winner Gary Anderson is available at +3300, while 2007 champion Raymond Van Barneveld is +12000.

Michael Van Gerwen | Clear Front-Runner

Michael Van Gerwen remains one of the most consistent darts players in the world, but he is yet to add to his three PCD World Championships since beating Michael Smith in the 2019 final.

The Dutchman has reached two of the previous four finals, and he lost out in a thriller against Michael Smith in the previous edition. Van Gerwen is the second most successful player in the history of the event, having won three championships on his 16 previous appearances.

Gerwyn Price | Holds A Strong Chance

While Gerwyn Price may be a pulverizing figure in the world of darts, there is little doubt that the 38-year-old is one of the best players in the world. He is a three-time Grand Slam Champion and was previously ranked as the number one player in the world.

Price became the first Welsh star to ever win the PDC World Championship in 2021, as he dismantled Gary Anderson to land a maiden title by a 7-3 scoreline. He is currently ranked fourth in the world but hasn’t won a major PFC title since landing a second World Series Finals title in 2022.

Michael Smith | Defending His Title

The 2023 edition was all about the culmination of Michael Smith’s dream, as he finally landed the top prize. Smith has lost two previous finals before the 2023 edition, which included defeat in the 2022 showpiece against Peter Wright. However, his consistency is easy to see based on the fact that he has reached the final in three of the previous six editions.

The 32-year-old is currently ranked as the best player in the world and has won 17 major titles throughout his career. The 2022 Grand Slam champion will once again be a solid contender throughout the PDC World Championship as he looks to become the first player since Gary Anderson in 2017 to win back-to-back titles.
