Ottawa RedBlacks +6 at Winnipeg Blue Bombers -6

Ottawa did beat Montreal 24 to 17 in their last. Unfortunately for their against the spread backers, the RedBlacks were -14 favorites. Ottawa is only 3-5 ATS this season. That means the Blue Bombers should be 6-point home favorites. Winnipeg has won 3 in a row. They beat Hamilton 29 to 23 in a push in their last. Before that, they had beaten Toronto in two straight. Are the Argonauts a safe betting pick in CFL Week 10?

BC Lions -1.5 at Toronto Argonauts +1.5

Toronto hasn’t won a lot of football games this season. In fact, Toronto is 3-4 SU. What’s surprising, and incredibly positive if you’re an Argonauts fan, is that Toronto has gone 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games. Toronto also beat Edmonton 31 to 23 SU on August 9 as a 3-point home dog. The victory over the Eskimos could be a sign that Toronto is back on track. BC is a slight favorite. They shouldn’t be. Montreal Alouettes +16.5 at Edmonton Eskimos -16.5

Montreal starter Johnny Manziel wasn’t all that bad in the Alouettes 17 to 24 loss to Ottawa on August 11. It was Johnny Football’s second start. He imploded in his first start. In his second start, he settled down for a 16 of 26 performance with no interceptions and no TD passes. Manziel also rushed 3 times for 36 yards. He should continue to improve. Montreal has gone 3-1 ATS in road games this season, including covering at Saskatchewan, at Calgary, and at Ottawa. The Alouettes are the pick ATS even though Edmonton should win SU. Sunday, Aug. 19

Calgary Stampeders -7.5 at Saskatchewan Rough Riders +7.5

This could be the week where Calgary adds a loss to their stunning 7-0 SU record. The Stampeders have run roughshod over every team they’ve faced. One of the wins was a 34 to 22 victory over the Rough Riders on July 28. Is there any way Saskcatchewan turns things around on Sunday? Since the loss to Calgary, Saskatchewan dropped a game 19 to 26 to Edmonton. The Rough Riders are great at stopping the rush. They’re not that bad at stopping the pass. They allow a lot of points per game, though. That’s the problem. Saskatchewan should keep it close, within the 7.5 points, even though they most likely won’t beat Calgary on August 19.
