While the other two series are into the playoff portion of the season, the Xfinity Series has one more race to be run before the cut is made, and 12 drivers move on with a shot at ending the season as the champion.
That final race comes this weekend, and it is certainly going to be a different challenge for all the drivers involved in it.

My NASCAR Xfinity Series Food City 300 Analysis
The Xfinity Series will be in Bristol on Friday for a night race, which is sure to be fun for fans and drivers alike.
More importantly, though, it is the final chance for drivers to score the points required to make it into the Round of 12 in the highest position possible.
The night aspect of this race makes it a little trickier to handicap, but let’s take a look at some drivers and picks who could be in the mix.

Justin Allgaier +295
Is this finally going to be the year when Allgaier finally breaks through and wins the Xfinity Series Championship that he very much deserves?
As it stands right now, Allgaier is well-placed, sitting atop the driver standings with just 1 regular season race to come.
He has been off the pace in the last 2 races, failing to get near the top 10 in both races, but this one might be where he gets back on track, pardon the pun.
Allgaier won this race last season and has a history of doing well on the Bristol track, so I would be more than willing to bet on him to win.
^Cole Custer +430
The defending Xfinity Series champion is nicely poised in 2nd place in the standings, but like Allgaier, he is getting cold at the wrong time.
While he does have a 2nd place finish in the last 5 races, the other 4 races have seen him finish outside the top 20.
That is certainly not the type of form you want to be experiencing with the playoffs about to begin, so you can bet that Custer will be pushing hard to get back in the hunt.
He finished 4th in this race last season, so I would not count him out of this one.
^Chandler Smith +450
While not winning a race for a while, Smith has been in pretty decent form over the past month or so, finishing no worse than 8th in each of his last 4 races.
That said, it has been a minute since Smith took a checkered flag, picking up a pair of wins in the early part of the season.
He is, though, a driver that is always worth taking a chance on in terms of a top 3 or 5 finish.
Smith ran 5th in this race in the 2023 season, so he is another one that could well be up among the leaders in this one.
^Austin Hill +1675
This is a driver that always feels like a bit of a risky bet given that he tends to be a little bit inconsistent over the course of a season.
Hill has made a habit of getting out to a fast start, which he did this season by winning the opening 2 races, before cooling off rather dramatically.
He brought his winless streak to an end a couple of weeks ago in Atlanta, but then followed that up with a poor run last race out.
Austin has had a top 5 in this race, but I would bet on him to win at your own peril.

2023 Food City 300
The NASCAR Xfinity Series regular season is in the books, so now we have to turn our attention to the playoffs with the opening race in the Round of 12. All told, there will be 3 races in this round before we get to the cut that will take the field down to 8. Of course, it is worth remembering that all the drivers will be taking part, so it may not necessarily be a playoff competitor that goes out and gets the win this weekend. That said, the bookies seem to be of the belief that one of the major players will be the one to take the checkered flag, which we will get into in a moment. It is rather simple here in that a win moves the driver on to the next round, so expect this one to be somewhat frantic. Now, let’s get to the current Xfinity Series odds for the Food City 300.

John H. Nemechek
The best way to head into the playoffs is on the heels of a win, which is exactly what Nemechek is doing after winning the final race of the regular season. The victory also means that he ended the season at the top of the driver standings, but the question now is whether he can stay there and make it all the way to the championship. Given that he has won 6 races this season, the most of any driver in the Xfinity Series, you have to feel that he is the man to beat. You have to go back to 2019 to find the last time he raced on the Bristol track, finishing 3rd in that one.

Austin Hill
Last year, Hill made the full-time move from the Truck Series to the Xfinity Series, making the playoffs at the first try in the process. He did not make it into the final four, but he did finish 6th overall in what has to be viewed as a very successful first season. You know that he will be looking for more this time around and he is certainly in the position to do that. Hill has 4 wins this season, although 3 of them came in the first month and a half and has put himself in prime position. He was top 3 in Bristol last season and could well repeat that performance this weekend.

Justin Allgaier
Could this finally be the year where Allgaier breaks through and wins that elusive championship? As is the case every season, he is in the position to do so, but the fact that he has not made that happen yet makes it tough to pick him to win it all. What we can do, though, is pick him to do well in individual races. He has been a pretty consistent performer in Bristol over the past few years, so a top 5 finish might be a good bet.

Cole Custer
Custer is certainly considered a longshot to win it all, especially given his current form, but I would suggest that he is also a longshot here. Custer has won a couple of races this season, but both of those wins came on road courses. It has also been a minute since he has raced on this track at this level. I think top 10 would be the best way to play him this weekend.
