AFL Betting Analysis – Check Out Latest Odds to Win 2020 Telstra Premiership Championship

Brisbane Lions +550

Brisbane last won the Grand Finals back in 2003 when they finished off a stupendous three-peat that year. Now, however, the Lions are sitting in second place in the standings heading into week 8. With 519 points scored, Brisbane is third in most pints scored this season while allowing 438 points defensively. Brisbane has won five of their last six games and looks like a legitimate championship contender as they sit atop the odds board to win it all in 2020.

Port Adelaide Power +550

Port Adelaide won their last Grand Finals in 2004, though they reached the finals in 2007 as well. Right now, the Power are sitting atop the AFL standings as they’ve put 520 points on the board to rank second in scoring while their 338 points allowed ranks second in the AFL heading into week 8.

Collingwood Magpies +600

Collingwood reached the grand finals in 2001 one year after winning it all. Right now, the Magpies are sitting in fourth place in the standings with 431 points scored while limiting the opposition to a league-low 298 points defensively. If defense wins championship, then Collingwood apparently is going to have a legitimate shot to win it all this season.

Richmond Tigers +600

Richmond is the reigning league champions and they also won it all in 2017. Right now, the Tigers are sitting in fifth place in the standings with 487 points scored while allowing 444 points defensively. This team has a ton of experience and talent and they definitely shouldn’t be counted out even if they’re not the prohibitive favorites to go back-to-back.

West Coast +600

West Coast is sitting in ninth place in the standings, having scored 415 points while allowing 413 points defensively. The 2018 AFL champions also reached the grand finals in 2015 while also reaching the finals in 2005 and winning it all in 2006.

Greater Western Sydney Giants +900

Greater Western Sydney reached the grand finals a year ago before falling to Richmond. Unfortunately, the Giants are struggling this season as they currently sit in 10th place in the AFL standings. GWS has scored a stellar 523 points this season, though their defense has been lacking in allowing 524 points defensively.

Geelong Cats +1400

Geelong won a trio of titles in 2007, 2009 and 2011 while making another finals appearance in 2008. This season however, the Cats are sitting in a solid, sixth place in the standings. With 502 points scored, Geelong is one of six teams to top the 500-point total heading into the weekend. The Cats have allowed 430 points defensively.

Western Bulldogs +1400

Western last won it all back in 2016 and they look like they’ll have another legitimate shot as they head into week 8 sitting in third place in the AFL standings. The Bulldogs have scored 489 points this season while allowing a nearly identical 484. If Western plays any sort of competent defense from here on in, they could surprise

St Kilda +2200

St. Kilda made consecutive grand finals appearances in 2009 and 2010 while also reaching the finals in 1997 and 1971. Unfortunately, the Saints haven’t won it all since 1966. St. Kilda is currently in seventh place in the standings, having scored 496 points while allowing 442 points defensively.

Essendon +2500

Essendon is sitting in 10th place in the standings with 16 points. The Bombers have scored 374 points this season while allowing 376 points defensively.

Melbourne Demons +2800

Melbourne last reached the grand finals in 2000, but they haven’t hoisted the championship trophy since way back in 1964. Right now, the Demons are sitting in 13t place in the standings with 372 points scored and 368 points allowed. Simply put, save your betting bucks on this club as they will be headed home in short order.

Carlton Blues +5000

Carlton reached the grand finals in 1999 while winning it all in 1995 and making another finals appearance in 1993. Right now however, the Blues are sitting in 12th place in the standings with 484 points scored this season while allowing 475 points defensively.  Carlton has lost two of three heading into week 8.

Gold Coast Suns +6600

Gold Coast is sitting in eighth place in the standings, having scored 518 points to rank fourth in points scored, though they’ve also allowed 482 points defensively. Still, with no titles on their resume, I’m expecting the Suns to come up well short of their Premiership title hopes this season.

Hawthorn Hawks +6600

Hawthorn won three consecutive grand finals from 2013-2015. The Hawks also reached the grand finals in 2012 while claiming another title in 2008. Unfortunately, this season Gold Coast is struggling mightily as they sit in 14th place in the standings with a modest 390 points scored and a generous 496 points allowed defensively. Hawthorn has lost three straight heading into week 8 and has virtually no chance of upsetting any of the top favorites this season.

Fermantle Dockers +25000

Fermantle reached the grand finals in 2013, but right now, the Dockers are in no position to challenge anyone as they sit in 15th place in the standings with 383 points scored this season and 447 points allowed defensively.

North Melbourne Kangaroos +25000

The Kangaroos won it all in 1996 and reached the grand finals in 1998, but this is a club that doesn’t look like they’re capable of anything good as they sit in 17th place in the 18-team AFL standings with 364 points scored and 474 points allowed defensively.

Sydney Swans +50000

Sydney reached the grand finals in 2016, 2014 and 2006 while winning it all in 2012 and 2005. The bad news is that the Swans are currently sitting in 16th place in the standings with eight points. The Swans have scored 386 points while allowing 480 points defensively.

Adelaide Crows +100000

Adelaide reached the grand finals in 2017 after winning consecutive titles in 1997 and 1998. Unfortunately, right now, the Crows are the only winless team in the AFL as they sit in last place, having scored a league-low 304 points while allowing a league-high 548 points defensively. Don’t waste your time or AFL betting bucks on a team that is going nowhere fast this season.
