Winner: Brisbane Lions +600

Brisbane finished last season with a 17-6 record. Also, the Lions tied Port Adelaide with 68 points. 

The Lions were so close to winning the 2023 hardware. Brisbane made is all the way to the final but lost to the chalk, the Collingwood Magpies.

This season, it’s going to be difficult to keep Brisbane from a second straight title contest. The Lions didn’t change much. All they must do is maintain.

Tom Doedee does join Brisbane, which should make the Lions even better than they were in 2023. Also, Will Ashcroft returns, which is massive.

Runner-up: Collingwood Magpies +550

The defending champs are, once again, the favorites to score the Grand Final victory. Collingwood had a great season, going 18-5 and winning the points battle with 72.

The Magpies landed Lachie Schultz, which will make Collingwood even tougher to beat.

The +550 chalk for sure can get it done. But the odds are somewhat light, and Collingwood has a bullseye on their backs. So if it comes down to Collingwood versus Brisbane in the Grand Final, which is the prediction, the Lions get it done.

Third Choice: Carlton Blues +850

Carlton hasn’t won the premiership in 29 years. The Blues finished last season in great form, which makes sense why they’re a solid +850 to win the Grand Final.

However, this is a new season. It’s tough to know if the Blues are for real or if the end to the season was an anomaly.

The Blues finished the season with 54 points, which means to get into the top four this upcoming season, Carlton must make up 10 points on Melbourne. In any case, if you believe, the odds are decent enough, but, wow, 29 years is a long time.

Top Underdog Pick: Adelaide Crows +1400

Adelaide finished in the top eight, which is an excellent sign. In the AFL, a previous season’s top eight finisher almost always jumps into the top four.

The team that goes from top eight to top four this season could be the Adelaide Crows. The Crows had many close losses in 2023. Adelaide could surprise and the odds are fair.
