2024 Round 15 AFL Season

While the blockbuster clash between Sydney and GWS grabs the headlines, there are other intriguing games with significant implications for the ladder.

By analyzing current form, past encounters, and the latest AFL betting odds, you can craft a strategic betting approach for Round 15 and potentially turn your AFL knowledge into winning wagers.

The amount of parity in the AFL this season sees the teams in second and eighth place separated by two games.

There will be plenty of tight matches this weekend that will play a big impact on how the last few weeks off the season will shake out.

While there will be a few compelling matchups, the one most people are looking forward to will be between first-place Sydney and fifth-place GWS.

Swans Seek Victory Number 13

Friday, June 21st, 2024

The Sydney Swans have been rolling through the regular season.

Sydney has reeled off nine straight wins to improve to 12-1 on the year.

In recent weeks, the Swans have been consistent with putting the pace on their opponents.

Sydney has scored 100 points or more in four straight matches, while also playing excellent defense.

The Swans will have more good news on the horizon as well.

Callum Mills should be coming back from an injury for Sydney.

GWS is also hoping to get some top players back as well.

Lachie Ash and Stephen Coniglio are planning to make a return.

GWS has won two of its past three matches to bring some stability to the team after suffering through a three-match losing streak.

The Swans are -200 to win, while GWS is +160 to win the match.

Sydney is a 12.5-point favorite, the over/under has been set at 168.5 points.

GWS should cover the spread here, but the Swans will win.

Port Adelaide Needs to Figure Out How to Play Nice

Friday, June 21st, 2024

Port Adelaide has struggled to find players who can stay on the field.

Zak Butters is suspended for hitting someone during their match with GWS.

Charlie Dixon is appealing a three-match suspension for an incident in the SANFL.

The Power have lost back-to-back matches and saw its offense suffer.

Port Adelaide was limited to 71 points or less in consecutive matches.

On the other hand, Port Adelaide’s opponent, Brisbane, has started to put things together.

The Lions have been dragged into a number of exciting back-and-forth affairs in the past few weeks.

Brisbane has scored 100 or more points in three of their past four matches.

The Lions are -129 to win the match, while Port Adelaide is +105.

The Lions are -3.5 on the spread, while the over/under has been set at 168.5 points.

This match will go over the total. Brisbane should find a way to win as well.

North Melbourne Needs to Bounce Back

Friday, June 21st, 2024

North Melbourne took a soul-crushing loss to defending AFL champions Collingwood last week.

The Kangaroos led by 54 points in their last match, but saw it all slip away the Magpies win late.

That is going to be a tough turnaround to make for a match with Melbourne.

The Demons will want to lean on their excellent defense against North Melbourne.

Melbourne is -590 to win the match, while the Demons are -32.5 on the spread.

Melbourne will cover the spread.

AFL Round 15 Betting Analysis for the Top Games of the Week

Previous Betting News

The big question heading into AFL round 15 betting is if anybody can finally make some headway in the league. This is one of the most crowded ladders in recent memory, with three teams tied at the top and another six clubs within two games of #1.

Some people are calling this the toughest week to handicap of the season – and maybe ever. There’s a top-two matchup as well as some intriguing games up and down the ladder.

Let’s try and get a look to see how things are going to shake out so you can get all set to bet against the AFL Betting Odds

Top AFL Round 15 Betting Games for the Week

Brisbane Lions vs Melbourne Demons (-8.5), Thursday 4:20 AM ET

Both of these squads are tied atop the AFL with a 10-3 record, also square with Freemantle as all clubs are sitting at 40 points. Obviously, things are going to sit very differently after this premier match of the weekend, and the big question is if Melbourne can get back on track.

The Demons won their first ten games of the season only to find themselves mired in a three-game losing streak. What once was thought of as a runaway season for Melbourne has now gotten very tight. The Lions are without captain Dayne Zorko (hamstring) here, but one would still think they can keep this close.

Fremantle Dockers (-4.5) vs Carlton Blues, Friday 10:45 PM ET

The bad news for the Dockers is that either Brisbane or Melbourne is going to pick up a win this weekend – the good news is that one of them will also lose. That presents a great opportunity for 10-3 Freemantle to keep the pace atop the ladder, but they also have a tough visit to Carlton.

It’s not great timing for the Blues, who have been hit by injuries recently while also facing a Fremantle team fresh off a bye. This AFL betting line is kind of perplexing because this looks like an easy double-digit Dockers win.

Richmond Tigers vs Geelong Cats (-1.5), Saturday 1:35 AM ET

A huge Saturday triple-header features a huge #4 vs. #6 matchup. Geelong is 9-4 and just a game off the pace in the ladder, while Richmond is right in the hunt at 8-5.

The Tigers are one of four teams slotted at 8-5 heading into round 15, so they really need a win to separate themselves. Both clubs are coming off big wins, the Cats beating up on last-place West Coast by 18 and Richmond getting a somewhat shocking 15-point win over Carton.

You have to like Richmond coming off that win and getting Dustin Martin back after missing last week’s contest with an illness.

St. Kilda Saints vs Sydney Swans (-14.5), Saturday 4:25 AM ET

The last of the top eight matchups and the finale off a blockbuster Saturday sees #7 Sydney hosting #8 St. Kilda.

These sides split last season, with each club winning at home, and although that gives Sydney an edge for the outright win, the -14.5 is just too high of a number.
