We have another full weekend of MMA action ahead of us over the next few days and we are going to do all we can to load you up with previews and predictions. We will have LFA and UFC picks coming your way this week, but let’s get the MMA ball rolling with a look at Bellator 271. This event is set for Friday night, with the main card kicking off a 7 PM EST on Showtime. All told there are 5 fights on the main card, which includes a title fight as the headliner. We have all the current Bellator odds for each of the 5 fights, so let’s take a closer look at each and see if we can make some winning predictions.
Bellator 271 Betting Odds | MMA Analysis
Steve Mowry (-720) Vs Rakim Cleveland (+510)
The big boys will be stepping into the octagon first for a Heavyweight bout that seems unlikely to go the distance. Mowry comes in as a pretty heavy favorite and will be looking to extend his perfect pro record, which currently sits at 9-0. At 22-13-1, Cleveland has a ton of experience behind him, plus he is on a nice run of form, winning each of his last 3 fights. I don’t think Cleveland will be able to keep that streak alive, though, as I like Mowry for the submission win.
Arlene Blencowe (-355) Vs Pam Sorenson (+285)
Next up, we have a Featherweight bout featuring a pair of very good female fighters. Both have been in very good form of late, with Blencowe coming into this bout with a 14-8 record that includes a run that has seen her win 4 of her last 5. It has been the same run of form for Sorenson, who also has 4 wins in her last 5 fights to take her pro mark to 9-3. I think there is a good chance that this one goes the distance, with Blencowe getting the win.
Aaron Pico (-345) Vs Justin Gonzales (+275)
The next bout on the main card if a Featherweight bout, where one of these fighters will be putting their unbeaten record on the line. Pico comes in with an 8-3 career mark and a solid run of form that has seen him win each of his last 4 fights. Gonzales is the man with the perfect record, going 12-0 to start his pro career, but this is arguably his toughest fight yet. I think Pico keeps his winning streak going with a KO win in this one.
Tyrell Fortune (-190) Vs Linton Vassell (+160)
As the odds clearly show, this Heavyweight bout is the most evenly matched bout on the main card. Fortune is 11-1 and is on a 3-fight winning streak, as well as another fight that ended in a No Contest after his first pro loss. Vassell is 21-8 and working on getting back into a positive run of form after a 3-fight losing streak. He has won 2 in a row, but it looks as though he might be in trouble here, as I have Fortune with the KO win.
Cris Cyborg (-4500) Vs Sinead Kavanagh (+1550)
The night closes out with a Featherweight Title Fight that might not last very long, if we are being totally honest. Cyborg is 24-2 and is the current champion. She has dominated since arriving in Bellator, winning all 3 of her fights inside the distance. She is much more experienced than Kavanagh, who is 7-4 and coming into this fight on the heels of 2 straight wins. I think Cyborg gets the job done quickly in this fight.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
