Bellator 278: Velasquez vs Carmouche Betting Odds, Analysis & Picks

When Friday night rolls around, fight fans are going to have a decision to make. Both the LFA and Bellator events are going off at the same time, and while you may not be able to watch both live, you can certainly still wager on the individual fights. What may swing things in the favor of Bellator 278 for some is that we have a title fight sitting at the top of the main card. In total, there are 5 fights on the main card, all of which are absolutely worth watching. Let’s now break down each of the bouts, with Bellator Odds and predictions for each fight of Bellator 278: Velasquez vs Carmouche.

Bellator 278 Betting Preview | MMA Analysis

Manny Muro (+295) Vs Nate Andrews (-370)

We get the evening rolling with a Catchweight bout and a pair of brawlers looking to bounce back after taking losses in their recent fights. Muro was on a 3-fight win streak heading into his last bout, but he came away on the losing end, dropping to 12-7 in the process. After a great start to his pro career, Andrews has hit a bit of a bump in the road, losing 3 of his last 4. Both fighters need this one, but I think it will be Andrews who gets the decision.

Christian Edwards (+130) Vs Grant Neal (-160)

We have a Light Heavyweight bout up next and a pair of fighters who look to be very evenly matched indeed. Edwards saw his 5-fight win streak come to an end last time out, taking the first loss of his pro career. It is much the same story for Neal, who had started out by winning each of his first 6 fights before running into trouble in his last one. This is a fight that really could go either way, but I am taking Neal to get the decision.

Jornel Lugo (+280) Vs Danny Sabatello (-350)

This Bantamweight bout has the potential to be the fight of the night, as these fighters have combined for just 1 career loss. Lugo will be putting his unbeaten record on the line in this one, as he comes in sporting an 8-0 mark. Sabatello is 11-1 and has been on a winning streak, winning each of his last 5 fights, with the previous 3 going the distance. I like this one to go all the way, and I like Sabatello to get the nod.

Enrique Barzola (-150) Vs Nikita Mikhailov (+130)

Next up is the co-main event of the night, which is a Bantamweight bout between a pair of really good fighters. Barzola is 17-5-2 and is going through a bit of a sticky patch, with a 2-2-1 record over the course of his last 5 fights. In comparison, Mikhailov is on fire and comes into this bout on a run that has seen him win 5 in a row, taking his record to 9-1 overall. This should be a great battle, with Mikhailov getting the decision.

Juliana Velasquez (-165) Vs Liz Carmouche (+140)

The main event of the night is definitely one worth waiting for, with Juliana Velasquez looking to defend her Flyweight title against a very tough opponent. Velasquez may be the champion here, but she has had to battle to decision wins in her last 3, moving to 12-0 overall. Carmouche earned her title shot by winning 3 in a row to move to 12-7 overall. I think we are looking at this one going the distance, with the champ retaining her belt.
